Bean sandwich... Cold left over bean stew mixed with mayonnaise on white bread... This was my school lunch a lot when I was a kid in the 60's... We were poor and I got a lot of grief from the other kids but man I love that sandwich...

My father always talks about eating bean sandwiches as a child. Fix dried lima beans and rice for supper, spoon the left over beans in a loaf pan, chill it, then slice and use to make sandwiches.

Hogshead cheese on wheat bread with onions and pepperjack cheese.
Now that's my kind of sandwich!

one of my all time favorites since discovering it when I was a young teenager is my special grilled cheese sammich.
Starts out like plain old grilled cheese on open toast .... but add thin chopped onion bits, cinnamon and a bit of sugar.

Breakfast delicacy :)

Sliced Pineapple is another eye opener on grilled cheese. You can do crushed pineapple, but for some reason it just doesn't stack up to the sliced stuff. Something about the texture of biting into the slice sets it apart.

It's not exactly exotic, but I do enjoy a fried bologna sandwich with steamed onions and cheese melted on top. Maybe the most experimental is a cream cheese and sardine sandwich spread I've made a few times.

Peanut butter and pickle! Tuna salad with how sauce. Don't get me started on Reubens. There's good reubens, bad reubens, and real Reubens. So many are fakes!

Corned beef on rye with swiss and slaw. NO sauerkraut. Hate the stuff! That and kimchee! Who wants rotted cabbage and putrid spiced radishes down their gullet? I'm a Chef but can't believe some stuff that those in my profession come up with.

Me. I hate sugar! Give me something acidic and fermented any day of the week

I like an egg samich every now & then.
Here in NJ, we have a sammich called pork roll, egg, and cheese, or PEC, typically served on a hard roll (Kaiser roll) with optional SPK. It is the ultimate breakfast on the go, but suitable for any meal time.

My fav sandwich is a tuna, mixed with miracle whip, dill pickle chips, topped with French’s mustard an a dash of red wine vinegar... on white bread.
#2 fav is a Cuban sandwich, though haven’t had a good one of those since moving from coconut grove.

Grilled cheese, velveta by choice, bacon and baked bean sandwich would be my favorite. Grandma Browns Baked Beans made the best ones. My lovely wife would all but lock me out of the house! She just didn't appreciate firehouse lunches!

#2 is a mufellata, they're far more appreciated around the house!

It's not a sandwich, but does anyone else like fried bread? My Dad used to make that after frying up bacon. Just drop a couple slices in the pan and fry them golden brown, drain them a little and sit back and listen to your arteries harden! That's going to have to stay a memory, blood work tells the doc too much these days!

Fry bread in my neck of the woods is a staple. The local Ojibwe take pride in it. I have heard comments about how they like "Grandmas" Fry bread. Now take fry bread and place taco fixings on top and you have a sort of sandwich that is hard to beat. Also there is biscuit dough fried which is often called bannock. That works well with a camp fire breakfast,

Tried a new one today. Bacon and cole slaw on whole grain with mayo, sweet chow chow relish and some Italian Bamba hot pepper sauce. Right tasty (y)
