White Spacers - Which 336's Didn't Have Them?

I've been searching around and looking at pictures and have yet to find an answer. Anyone have any idea what years, calibers, or whatever, that certain models of 336's didn't come with the white butt spacers?

Have 4 early vintage Marlins - two have them and two don't. I believe for the two that don't have them that one shouldn't have it and the other should and it's just been removed. Here's what I have:

1952 336A in 30-30 - has spacer
1952 336RC in 30-30 - has spacer
1952 336RC in 32 Spl - doesn't have spacer (which I believe is correct)
1954 336RC Texan in 35 Rem - doesn't have spacer (but perhaps it should?)

....Or should they all have them and I need to start cutting bucket lids up to craft a couple replacements?

TIA,

White spacers were introduced in 1950--they are shown in the 1950 Marlin sale catalogs.

I happen to like the looks of the white spacers. I actually added a white spacer to a Marlin Camp 9 I once had, that had the Deluxe stock. It really made it look better to me. I traded that sweet rifle off (even) for a 1980 1894 44 mag though. I regret losing the Camp 9, but I'd never give up my 44 to get it back. I'm going to see if I took a photo of it,..............Yep, here's a before and after. So there's at least one Camp 9 in CA now that is not original. (but can be put back)

When Marlin adopted the brown recoil pad on the Mod 336 in 1990--that's when the plastic butt plate and the associated white spacer went away. The brown recoil pads initially had a white spacer (a little different from the earlier type) for awhile but they eventually went away as well.

And of course this change was made due to political correctness. Please note that black, yellow or even brown spacers were never offered making these guns a racist statement in their own right. If you still have a rifle with a white spacer it is recommended that you remove it promptly or you will incur the wrath of the NAACP or another one of those organizations.:listen:

FrankenMauser etal: It is incredulous to me that any firearms forum would restrict politically incorrect comments since in some circles firearms collecting is as politically incorrect as one can get. This "restriction" IMO is usually done at the insistence of some left wing trolls whose sole purpose in going on a gun forum is to try and cause trouble. Keep ONE thing in mind everyone: Their goal in life is to completely control/ban the private ownership of firearms since it's an essential step in the total implementation of socialism. We've got their number and can't allow this to happen. Gun grabbers should be year round fair game just like any other vermin with no imposed restrictions

There was a Blurb on one of the Gun Talk Shows last weekend that one of the members went to a Training Session put on by the ATF. They gave some ATF souvenirs to the participants. One of the items (don't remember if it was a lighter or something else) and on it was stamped "ATM Think Confiscation". You bet they're after our guns.
