25-20 brass on GB now. still almost two days to go on this listing.What I saw on GB was 84 fired , mixed head stamp 25-20 brass for $104 at this point.

 

I haven't seen any new stock in the last decade. I have a couple hundred of old stock. I currently just form from 32-20, but now that case is impossible to find. On a side note, 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor is quite plentiful but I like vintage cartridges.

 

It took me about 6 months to finally find about 200 rounds of new unfired brass. I also bought 100 reloads that I promptly dissasembled , saving the bullets and leaving the primers intact. It’s very hard to find at a reasonable cost anymore.

looks like there is two boxes of factory remington ammo listed on GB right now as well. Currently selling at 80.00 A BOX……

 

I just bought a 94CL a couple weekend's ago in 25-20 and I lucked out when the guy pulled out a new box of winchester ammo for it. He gave me the ammo and didn't charge me for it! I have seen some on GB and it's ridiculously expensive.

 

I have a good dependable way to form 25-20 from 32-20. First I lightly oil the neck ( very lightly ) of a 32-20 case. Then pass it thru a Redding 25-20 neck sizer. Only the neck is sized, not the body. Then lightly oil the body of the case, making sure there is no oil on the shoulder. Pass this thru my 25-20 FL sizer, & just like that a 25-20 case. Easy.

Here's a tip that may help- Sign up on auction sites for estate auctions. I've found all sorts of good stuff and reasonable prices, including 25-20 brass and ammo. Just last week, I picked up 105 rounds of Frankford Arsenal military 38 Colt ammo, including a bunch of rounds with a misstrike on the headstamp. If you can find "new" auction sites just starting up, you can usually find the best deals. A few years ago, I bought a 50 cal ammo can full of 30-06 stripper clips for the 03-A3. I paid 20.00 for the can and sold the clips for 5 for 12.00 on ebay. There were 500 of the stripper clips in the can. When you get the notifications for auctions, pay close attention to all the photos in the catalog, that's how you find the good stuff.

 

I am down to 1 rifle in 25-20 these days. And I have been lucky enough in the past to find some bargains on components. I have an ample supply of New Cases, Bullets in most all of the weights from 55 grains through 86 grains, and an array of suitable powders.
Also stocked up on factory ammo a few years back. Found 15 boxes of Remington's 86 gr soft points at an Estate Sale.
Ammo Seek list factory ammo from a variety of sources. Somewhat pricey, but as the saying goes, "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it"
Unless a major Firearms manufacturer starts producing rifles chambered for the venerable 25-20 again, it is doubtful we will see any increase in availability of ammo or components. That is sad to me, as the little 25 has long been one of my favorite calibers. It is the king of small game cartridges IMHO.

 

If you keep going to large gun shows, you will find .25-20 ammo sooner or later. I never see brass.

 

I got some 25-20 brass from Duck Creek Sporting Goods (.com) in the last 5 years or so. Bought all I could afford, which was a couple of hundred rounds, to supplement what came with the rifle when I bought it (Stevens 23C). Can't remember off hand who made the brass.

 

I contacted Starline last night asking specificly about if they will ever produce more 32-20 brass.

For those who are looking for 25-20wcf and can accept those made from 32-20wcf there is a good supply on the internet. Go to GunBroker and search for 25-20.

 

Sure do wish Starline would neck down and stamp for the 25-20.

 

I believe they did a couple months back, another good source is ET Brass, but at the moment it isn't listed. I scored some new primed brass from them last summer. I have quite a bit of 25-20 at the moment so I haven't even opened any of it yet.

I would like to see Starline headstamp 25-20. I was told by them the last time I saw them at the NRA in Indy that for them to make 2525-20 then just add a few ops to 32-20.

Both Remington and Win have sold loaded and components lately .

I believe that was what ET Brass had last year, I bought a few hundred of new Winchester primed 25-20's at a very reasonable price.
