I've been having problems two problems with my 1954 336.
One with double feed. After firing and working the lever two rounds will exit the tube causing a jam. This happens about 60% of the time.
The other problem I have is that sometimes the trigger won't work like you haven't depressed the lever enough to disengage the safety. This happens about 40% if the time.
I have went through this form and found many suggestions to these problems and performed them with no positive results.
Both of these problems only occur after firing. You can load the max rounds and work the lever and the trigger every time with no problems if you don't fire the gun.
So I took the rifle to a reputable gunsmith who completely disassembled and cleaned the receiver which I had also done myself. And I still have the same two problems. He never fired the rifle and working on it.
