I'm sure someone some where has commented on this topic, juat haven't had any luck on finding it. I'm thinking about putting a set of the Tru-glo fiber optic sights on my classic. Has anyone done this and if so were you happy with the results. My ancient eyes don't do so well on the stock iron sights anymore and I'm not a great fan of scopes for me. Thanks for any advise that any of you might have on this. Have a great day.

Hi...i shot a Truglo frontsight and a Marble Peep sight in the back. It works greatfull

Thanks for the responses. I have ordered a set of the true glo sights and just waiting for them to get here. Once installed I'll attempt to post a picture of them on here.
Be sure to let us know how you like them. They sure do stand out in dim light like at dusk.
If your rifle has a ramp front sight be sure to support the ramp when you push the old sight out. I didn't one time & bent & loosened the screws holding the ramp. I had to have them re-drilled & tapped. Thankfully the ramp still covered the old holes.

Thanks for the heads up Frank I probably would have not supported it. Would it pay to remove the ramp and change the sights and then put the ramp back on? I'll admit I'm a bit apprehensive about changing them, but looking forward to putting them on. They're here so now to get a brass punch and go for it. I'll let you know how they are.

Probably will not work that way because one screw is usually found under the sight, so you will have to remove the sight first to remove the ramp. The sight moves left to right to come out and a simple sight tool or block of wood for a backup is all that is needed. Support the ramp not the barrel.

What I did is get a $60 front sight pusher from Brownell's. I don't use it often, but on ramp front sights it's pure magic. They probably won't work on a round bbl dovetail though. I'd support the ramp with a block of wood ( wood won't mar your ramp) & gently tap the front sight out with your brass punch. When you install the glow sight be careful not to let your brass punch slip & hit the glow part of your sight it might break it. Go slowly & use JUST enough pressure to get the sight changed. :top:
Let us know, I really do like mine in the dark timber.

If the ramp is screwed on the Williams sight tool, which is same type as Brownells, will both push it out and push it in. Tool is worth
buying if you tinker with guns. It will not work on the one piece ramp sight that are dove tailed in barrel.

Do you mind sharing what models or Tru glow and rear sight that is?

I have a flip over weaver mount and those sights would be perfect for low light work!

I believe with older eyes, I myself might head this way. I am sure that I am not alone.

Looks like a Marbles bullseye rear sight.

This Truglo was standart from my .410 levershotgun. It`s fit for the 336.
It´s like this front sight

I put a fire sight on my 30AS, it covered a rabbits head at closer distances.
The bead got put back on. But isnt used any more. The 4x mildot compact is the meat gitter now

I just picked up a Guide gun with true glow sights on it and, although they show up better I really hate the way they look. Does anyone know where I can pick up a buck-horn or semi buck-horn and the correct front sight for this?

In order of where I would shop...

1. Numrich
2. Bob's Gun Parts
3. Brownell's

That said, typically I don't use stock rifle sights. Even if I want a semi-buckhorn style rear and bead front I find the best source for Marble's units and buy there. For me, I prefer a peep rear and Skinner post style front. With or without orange paint at the top.
