Hello
Has anyone suppressed their Camp 45 carbine?? I used to shoot for a job and I reckon they'd be great for the work I was doing.

If you search on here you will find a thread about a suppressed Camp Carbine. Sorry I can't point you to it, but I'm not very good with a computer.

I would think that the use of a suppressor would cause your carbine to become dirtier, just as they do on an AR. They impede the flow of gas and unburned particles out through the barrel. The camp is already dirty because of the blow back design. Anything that does not go out through the barrel or the ejection port stays in the chamber area or falls into the operating parts including the magazine. A 22 long rifle is a good example-look inside after you fire about 250 rounds. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages.

I remember a website several years ago that offered both 9 and .45 Camp Carbines with full-barrel suppressors, already made. Site's long gone, but I did save some photos from it. They were cool, kinda looked like DeLisles.

I've thought about putti g some kind of modern DeLisle carbine....but it would be a pretty expensive proposition no mTter how yoy do it.

In any case...yeah...anything you hang a can on will run much dirtier than otherwise!!! You can take that to the bank lol.

On a semi auto rifle, gas or blow back, the bolt velocity will be increased. The reason the empties were flung further and crud blows back into the action. The suppressor, like an automotive muffler will create back pressure restricingt gasses that normally blow forward out the bore and increase pressure - blowing back the bolt harder, or in a gas operated gun (ie: M4's with suppressors) increasing port pressure in the pressure of the gas and cylinder systems. Military guns require significant mods if they are going to be used suppressed for duty. May want to keep an eye on the buffer. AC

Check with Welcome | Stalking Rhino Industries . Last time I talked to them they were doing integrally suppressed bbls or SBR's w/ titanium cans. Separate can easier to clean but requires second form 4 and an extra $200. I would have but couldn't afford it along with .45 can they're retrofitting and pinning to a single shot 45 Colt upper that goes on an ACP frame. With the can pinned on it will be over 16" and I can add a stock.
