For owners of 356 Win. you'll never have to look for brass again.
buy a Redding #83227 - 358 Win. -356 Win. Form and trim die.
For a brass donor, I used new Starline 444 brass.
I was happy about the ease of the operation.
I install the forming die on an old RCBS Rock Chucker press use Hornady's sizing wax then with an in and out action transformed one 444 case into a 356 Win. marked off the excess neck out of the top of the forming die and trimmed to the mark. Then in another press I install a RCBS 358/356 Win. full sizing die.
Could not have been easier to form 356 W. brass.
I'll get back to this thread after I form two more and load three dummy rounds to see how it work in my Win.94AE-356W.
Oh yes, when breech loaded it chamber and locks up well.

I know what you mean. As I mentioned in past post, I have a wealth of NIB 356 win. Winchester brass and fired brass too. But just can't stand the thought of not being able to buy 356 Win. brass when I want too. In the past few years, I have not seen a season run on 356 W. brass. Powder valley always had season run 356 W. brass but not in the past 5 or so years. I was able to buy 307 W. brass a few years ago from Powder Valley. Clean up my work bench I sold off a lot of brass I no longer need or had too much of and sold the 2 - 307 W. unopened bags.
I have a 444S and bought a bundle of Starline brass for it. I always read about using neck 308 case or just use 358 cases. I also read that Win.94 356W. may not eject neck 308 case or 358 cases but will work with 444 form to 356 W. case.
Not till I read it in an article was I convinced. So, I call up Redding and spoke to a tech he said, use the form and trim die, trim and run it up a 358/356 full sizing die.
The article.

Okay, today I decided just put a .357" 158 gr. copper plated on the reformed 356 W. dummy round and see if it works in the Win. 94 356W.
it went through the loading gate into the tube mag. but the case's rim seems a little too wide.
the dummy round pointing toward up the chamber but when raising the lever to chamber the round the rim is a bit too big and may need a little filing to the diameter of the 356 Win.'s case. PS. I bet if I had a 336ER 356 W. it would not be a problem.

Okay, I filed the rim's edge of the 444 case to match the 356W. rim diameter and according to Speer #13 manual the 444 and 356W rim's thickness are the same 0.0630". Putted the pistol bullet and replaced it with a Speer .358" 180gr. FN.
The Win. 94 356W. operated just fine. Always working with a dummy round.

Great thread, and thanks for the information. If I keep my 336ER, I will have to reload. Im supposed to have a lead on 100 pieces of 307 brass. If that falls through, I will look into the 444 Marlin brass and forming die (y) I already know I wont be able to use the type bullet I want. Im old school, and like the flat nose in my bruch guns, especially tube fed. Everybody has went to the pointed, high BC bullets. I dont like them for brush hunting. I want a 200gr flat nose, and be able to shoot through a tree, and kill that deer hiding on the other side 🤣 As it stands now, Id prolly go with the Hornady 200gr round nose, and maybe file a flat spot on it in the soft lead, and turn it into a flat nose.
