Tricked out "Space Cowboy" Marlin 336 30-30 is listed on GB for only $5300. GB Item #866076972---described as a Space Force Issue Marlin (?). Started out as a Marlin Dark series rifle and took a swift turn to somewhere after that. I wonder if the seller really thinks he will get that kinda moola for his creation? I guess there is always someone out there with that kind of money to burn.

I figure that rifle would be fun to pull up to my 15 ft tree stand on a rope. Might have to double up on the rope..................

I guess this is a factor in the final price.
But that leaves about $2238 for the rifle and the rest.
Really is is not as bad as I pictured it. I do not get the Boyds Hi-Grade walnut buttstock though.
If he had all the work done then he probably will not break even.
Just not to my liking though, price or looks.

Yeah--I saw that scope too and knew it was very pricey. As for the rest of the rifle---I would rather spend that kind of money on a hard to find Marauder, XLR, or LTD JM Marlin.

Actually there was a one year series called Firefly that was a true series about space cowboys with Nathan Fillion. Was a really good show and many people were a bit irritated when it was dropped. They made a movie to pacify them a bit called Serentity. Fillion was pretty good in the role. Spielberg claimed that Star Wars was actually a Western.

That was a great series. I didn't start watching it until about 5 years after it went off of the air. Uncle Sam had me taking vacations in Iraq and Afghanistan when Firefly was originally shown.

That rifle sure is SEXY! If flash hiders weren't illegal under the NY SAFE Act, I'd be all over this one :flute:

My son always says under his breath----"smile for the flash" before pulling the trigger on a deer. Got love those Gen-X hunters---LOL!

Man--you guys are killin' it with the "space" and flash hider jokes--LOL!

I can't wrap my mind around someone putting that type of scope on a 30-30, and then expect someone else to buy your "mistaken" or failed project rifle for that kind of money. The seller has more dollars than sense.

Talk about a Franken-Space-Marlin... :hmmmm:
