I know there have been several reviews however I've just uploaded this one if you are interested. I ran a lot of factory ammo and a bunch of my handloads through the Trapper and even added a Ranger Point Precision "Comet Muzzle Brake". Had a blast!

Review of Ruger-Built Marlin 1895 Trapper SBL Lever Action - 1895Gunner

Congrats to those who have landed one of these rifles.

Right, the locking lug may need adjustment if replacing a bolt . I have two 1895s and can swap the bolt without causing headspace issues. Blind luck I guess
My reason for asking is Ruger seems like the only game in town for getting replacement parts and the spiral bolt is an obvious difference. Problem is Ruger likely won't support parts for non Ruger made.
Anyway
Congratulations on the purchase and thanks again

Yup, picked mine up yesterday at a fair $150 under MSRP. 👍

Very good question. Looking at a similar? situation, I've owned a number of M70s, both pre '64 and new FNH. To me, I'd prefer a new Super Grade to a nice pre 64 now. As for the 1895, after my purchase of a Trapper, I'd most certainly trade my .444P for a new Trapper in .444.

But that's just me.

Apologies to the OP for getting off track on your excellent post.

I'd like to see a 444 with a full length magazine tube.

I'm hoping to see the new releases start to soften prices some, but the market is still pretty frenzied. I'm betting JMs will hold their value very well, just from the nostalgia. Plus places like Cali make levers even more sought after now. We will see.

You know, I'd kind of like to see them compete with the BLR, but I'm sure it's no where near as desired as the old tried and true.

Having a 1972 1895G and a full pimp Henry 45/70 here my first thoughts when I held one is "man is it small".
