Paul Herrell 45-70 video: What rifle/carbine is this?

At 4:28 in the YT video below, he starts shooting a 45-70 rifle with standard low pressure 45-70 loads. He says the rifle is a Palmetto Arms carbine, but I can't find it on the PA site. It looks similar to a Springfield Trapdoor carbine.

At 6:58 he starts to discuss about shooting Buffalo Bore ammo out of the carbine. Hence, it can't be a vintage Springfield Trapdoor carbine, unless he's incredibly stupid, which I don't believe for a second.

Yep, and he also said it was a bit dangerous, hence the kevlar helmet and goggles.

You can use smokeless powder in black powder firearms. but you had better rtfm carefully. Don't use the same charge of smokeless as you would with black powder. It will ruin your day.

Internet makes people do silly things for the views.
I shoot a Springfield TD Carbine and rifle with smokeless loads. Same for a Sharps carbine.
Lots of good low pressure loads available.
