Hi Guys:
I had to go into the office today for a sales review. On my way home I figured I would hit a few of the local GS's in the area since I don't get down this way that often. As I browsed the multitude of different rifles, this one catches my eye because of the brass around the turrets and locking ring of the scope.
Yep as far as I know there was only one scope manufacturer that used the brass accents, Marlin. I asked to see the rifle. It turns out to be a 1950, Waffle Top, drilled for and attached scope bases on the receiver and the barrel. But mounted with an original 4X Marlin Scope. The scope has a few scratches on it but the rifle Bluing, bore and stock are in excellent condition with a nice grain. Yep it came home with me. And I must say it was a STEAL.
I all ready had a marlin 100th anniversary 30-30 in my collection, but I couldn't pass this one up. Luv those old waffle tops.
Please don't ask for pictures, it is to much of a hassle for this old boy...LOL
Regards PAH..
