Well, glad I didn't re-up. If the sportsman club doesn't end the NRA membership requirement, I'm done being a member there as well. I simply cannot support the likes of LaPierre.

The La Pieree run NRA is no better than than Black Lives Matter. A Scam. La Pieree and his wife live high on the hog with donations they receive. I read that his wife has over 100 pairs of shoes in one of her closets. They use a private jet to fly everywhere, have lavish vacations, and use NRA money to live like royalty.

They finally stopped sending me requests for $$$. I never joined and never will.

I'm a life member too, donating for a few years now to the GOA. Nra will not see another donation for a long time.

I support the VCDL--a VA specific gun rights organization. They have done more for our state since 2017 than the NRA has done for years. This is especially damning for the NRA since they have a huge HQ building/NRA Museum near Centreville, VA.

 

Only hope that the NRA comes through all the problems facing it. Only problem is that many are self inflicted. If they were run as intended, imagine the gains possible.

I have not been a member since Neil Knox was fired in 1982. This was the first bringing to light that La Pierre was a crook.
The biggest problem with this re-election is that we will have an onslaught of Brandon inspired gun legislation and we need support from pro firearms groups.

 

I know nothing of the NRA in the US. I do know that it is an organisation run for the members, the supporters. They should be the ones to benifit. I have an old friend who runs charities. Its a formal and quite proper job, and she quite properly is well paid for doing a good job. But goodness, rather too well paid. Living a very high life with a huge home and wealthy lifestyle. All drawn on money dontated by folk who want to support the charity, not that lifestyle. Is that right? I dont think so. Maybe the same for the guy running the NRA?

The gun club I belong to dropped the NRA membership requirement a year ago. I never renewed my NRA after that. For months I sent back their begging letters with comments written in Sharpie all over them. Things like "Tell wayne to sell some suits", "I join when wayne is gone", etc. After sending back probably a dozen or so, they stopped sending them. If they send more I guess I'll change it to "When wayne and the board are gone".

It seems obvious to me that the board is as much of a problem as wanye is.

 

Same here, I've filled out surveys, I've sent mail back, I've replied to e-mails, same thing... Not renewing, not sending a dollar as long as Lapierre remains in charge. Just filled out another survey last weekend, stating such. Keep on getting an e-mail or two a week, get mail occasionally; begging for money, begging me to renew.

DITTO. I am a life benefactor member but until there is some transparency from the board concerning the improprieties, they will receive nothing else from me.

 

I hope I live to see the day when the NRA completely disappears from the face of the Earth.

Can't wait to see what "common sense" infringements the NRA will be supporting. I sent my last dollar to them long ago...GOA/SAF now.

 

One voter had the courage to do the right thing! Fifty-Four did not or were on the dole...

 

I sent them a letter of resignation when they demoted Chris Cox and shut off communications with Col. Allen West, who was a board member supporting Cox. I said I would be glad to become a member again after LaPierre was gone and there was a whole new board. All mail from the NRA came to a screeching halt; I have not had one letter begging me to cough up or the bad guys were going to take my guns away since then.

 

I support GOA.

 

Welp, send 'em more money 'cause I won't. Just throw money at the problem until it fixes itself. That always works. After this, 'NRA' has been added to my BS filter, so if those three letters are detected, I'm out, stay outta my personal space. Hope that's what y'all wanted? Unity, right? Not. Break form the norm or suffer the obvious consequences.......

 

I have been a life member for a lot of years, but have not sent any additional funds or upgraded my status since it became known that membership donations were being used to support the lifestyles of the rich and famous. I started working with my first job pumping gas at $0.50/gallon … so a long time ago. I don’t work to support someone’s mansion, fancy suits and private jets, except for when the government makes me.

The thing is, you members made it loud and clear to them that you all wanted Wayne gone. They completely ignored your wishes...YOU the source of their income.

Sounds just like how Uncle Sam operates
