Stopped by my local hideaway gun shop the other day and he had just taken in on consignment a 2007 Talo Engraved 1895 45-70 Whitetail still in the box (JM).
99.99% condition because the front sight hood was missing. Looks to be a boxed safe queen from several years ago. It will go good with my stainless Marlin 1894 .44mag.
All papers including the warranty paperwork, manual, hang tag and NRA card. Was lots cheaper than the new Ruger's coming out and some older 1895's I have seen.
Only 500 made with this one being close to the middle of production. Still has some old dried oil and grease inside.

Congratulations with that special acquisition. I love these TALO .45/70’s engraving. I used mine to swap parts with an also 2007 XLR to create two custom rifles to my specifications. One a 16” barreled trapper, the other the engraved receiver with a 20” barrel. Both with custom pistol grip furniture and both my most prized possessions.

Target shooting and possibly hunting. Lost vision in my right eye and not a great left handed shooter except pistols.

 

I wouldnt hesitate to hunt with that beauty. What a joy to carry in the woods. Can you use a red dot sight with your lost vision? Barrel or receiver mount?

I have the H&R Golden Buffalo rifle on that list. Didn't even know what I had when I bought it and found out later that Marlin made the barrels for them.

 

That is one heck of a score! Great looking rifle, and at that price, I'd be on the look out for the cops-as it appears you may have stolen it! I would have grabbed it in a heartbeat my own self at that price. Congrats.
