Thanks for the welcomes.... It was not raining raining today on the Oregon coast. So I removed the buck horn,mounted a Skinner sight and fitted a dovetail blank. Took the Marlin to my shooting spot and fired off 50 rounds of 158gr cast CFP over my Unique load. Glad to find out one turn aperture stem and it hit POA. I guess I won't have to mess about with a front sight change. My old eyes are only good for 50 -70 yards,beyond that a rifle with a scope is needed. I think I'm going to like this rifle as much as my 357 Winchester 73 for wandering around in the woods.
