Ruger just announced they are teaming with Magpul with a rifle Stylized after Ruger's original Trapper Series rifle, this model features the new Magpul Industries ELG stock and forend. Constructed of reinforced polymer, the ELG furniture is durable and impervious to even the worst weather. Designed to be functional and attractive, the stock and forend are M-LOK and QD attachment capable. The stock also holds six rounds internally and comes with a cheek riser if needed. This should be a fun one to test.

Apparently, tactical lever rifles have gained a good amount of popularity for Ruger to do this.

I'd rather have seen them reintroduce the 444P, maybe a threaded bbl, in walnut and PG.

Well, evidently, they don't care about us old traditionalist people.
You didn't mention the cal. not that I give to hoots.
The only thing I'm "really" interested in would be an 1894 in 41 mag. with the 18" barrel.
I (may) end up with one of the 357's, but would prefer the 41.

I love a rifle with beautiful wood furniture as much as the next guy, but I have no problem with this either. For a hunting rifle that gets tossed into the side-by-side and probably will get wet, this has some appeal.

My 336 Classic has fine looking walnut. My Guide Gun is brownish, laminated wood that looks OK and shoots great. The wood on my 3 JM Marlins ranges from “meh” to “that’s sweet!” but the oldest is from the early 1970s.

The funny thing is I hate the rail, not the stock. It just raises your optic up that much higher, interfering with getting a good cheek weld. And to my eyes it just looks “wrong”.

Ruger is only interested in the "Internet Commando" plastic crap.
I hounded them for a year and a half to get a Super Redhawk in 454, so they made them in 22 Hornet??
They're smok'n some hi grade ganja over there!??
If they make some nice lever guns with walnut and octagon barrels I'll consider one, until then?

That rifle is not my cup of coffee but if it gets the younger shooters to buy lever guns---I am all for it. I will just stick to my old JMs.
