Tried finding some info on my sng shot 20 ga and all I could find was they were part of H&R which was part of Remington? I bought it new but cant remember when, was many years ago. I bought it for a deer hunting gun for lower Michigan after my farmer buddy showed me his old Ithica sng shot 20. I was shooting a Mossburg 500 12 ga and missed a nice deer. Next day went and bought the 20 ga. Ended up with a nice 8 point. Its a smooth bore and shoos rifled slugs really well. Its very short and light to carry. I always thought it was maybe a youth gun with its size. Last time I shot it, took a deer about 15 yrs ago or more.
Check out the white spots on the shoulder, somewhere in its bloodline was a albino deer. Rumor had it there was one in the area once upon a time

Nice deer! I've never done any good with a shotgun and slugs.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but what you see on his shoulder is an expression of piebaldness. Albinism is the lack of a gene to make pigment. It would affect the entire animal--on not. Piebaldness is lack of pigment in a blotchy, or patchy pattern of various shapes and sizes all over the deer.

Very interesting, I didnt know that. It did have one other small white spot on a rear quarter. Ive taken a bunch of deer over the years, but nothing with spots like that. I felt a little bad, it seemed like a target in the woods. Just a pretty deer so I had to mount it even though I didnt really want another 8 point mounted.

Yours was probably made before Remington destroyed another good gun company, in Gardner, MA. They were not fancy, but a quality single barrel gun that came in smooth and rifled bore shotguns, rifles and muzzleloader. More Freedom Group carnage!
