Yes, the 1894M was always on my bucket list but the opportunity never presented itself. I good friend of mine bought one at a local gunshow in like new condition and I was so envious.
I have an 1894 22mag, Very few made it down under so when it came up for sale at a very reasonable price I nearly gave myself whiplash reaching for my phone. Shoots beautiful and zero issues. (other than the price of ammo for it)
I forgot that I also have a 57M, I would like a 1894M but I dont want to pay 1200 and up for one, some do have reliability issues with jamming, It's a crapshoot on if you will get a good one. I think that may have been one of the reasons it was discontinued.
I have had two of them and both shot poorly and fed well. I sold them both.
They are very well made. The 22 mag was was too long to work in the 39A action. The 39A action was more than strong enough to handle the 22 mag pressures. The 1894 was the logical choice for the 22 mag cartridge.
I paid just over 700 for my 1894M 4 years ago. Shoots and feeds very well. Almost new condition when I bought it. It doesn’t shoot quite as well as my Savage 93 but close. It’s a keeper.
