The black trigger does in fact kill stuff just as well but the gold trigger makes my eye happy. It's fancy!

 

Are they actually real gold plating or brass plated?

 

I believe it's actual gold plating. Anything else would wear off easier but what's on there does show some eventual wearing but it takes a long time.

You can get a trigger from Ranger Point Precision in gold as I did here. It is a "Marlin Rattle" proof trigger with improved feel:

gold aint my thing on a trigger. i have had a couple of old timer's brag to me and say, i have a gold trigger lever gun! no way i would ever change one of my black triggers for gold, to each his own i guess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

 

I have several extra gold triggers, PM me if you are interested in getting one at reasonable cost. They are takeoffs from 336s that I put custom Wildwest triggers in.

The Wild West Guns trigger happy trigger looks more like the original trigger than the Ranger Point does but they both work really well and reduce the trigger pull weight.

 

I do not think the WWG trigger comes in gold? I have the WWG in the silver (nickel) and blued steel. The RPP is anodized aluminum trigger and a steel upper section. They both effectively eliminate the Marlin Rattle and Flop and improve feel. Just kind of which you prefer the looks of.

I put one of the Ranger Point triggers on a marlin cowboy comp. I really liked the feel of it better compared to the stock trigger.

 

The gold wears off, eventually, just so you know

 

The RPP triggers are nice and you can get them in gold, silver, and black. I put one in my 1895GS

 

... I got rid of the floppy factory triggers on my 1895GS and 336SS and installed the WWG trigger happy kits ... they're not gold but I'm not going to complain about crisp 3 pound trigger pulls ... I'll take crisp, clean & light over gold & gritty any day

 

Mine breaks at 3.1 lb. Got a gold one on way.

 

I've never noticed whether my triggers are black or gold , never thought about it

You can send a black trigger to get coated I titanium nitride and have a gold one.

 

Got a silver one on my XLR, but only because the stainless Wild West "Happy Trigger" I bought for the XLR was way too sensitive to be safe, but was just right for the 336C.
Between that and the fact that the barrel is stamped 'CC', I can always pick it out in the crowd.

 

Hopefully the Gold one I got ordered will break at same lb as my black does....will see.

 

... "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" ... it's an individual thing and I'm not knocking that ... for me beauty is a 10 point buck dead on the ground not the trigger I pulled to get it there ... I did get stainless WWG triggers to match my stainless Remlins so I'm certainly not above vanity

 

Got my gold trigger put in today....looks like new. Pull still 3.1 lb. Put a coat of Penetrol on it to protect the gold finish from wear....will apply apply 2nd coat when dries. Really like the look it adds to the ole warrior.
