Just use the same limbsaver that you would for a guide gun, it fits...you might have to trim it a little, but it fits great. I was concerned when I saw the slight crescent, but no worries!

 

You don't happen to know what model number that is from Limb saver for the guide gun do you? I've been looking for my 1895M and have another post going for it.

 

Have you considered a PAST recoil pad? I wear one under my shirt when I pull out the big thumpers and have one pad for 4 rifles... No muss, no fuss...

The Limbsaver that fits the Guide Gun will fit the Cowboy. Haven't compared, but I'm willing to bet that the Limbsaver 'Xtra' that sits on the SBL will fit it too.

I just verified and YES ... the SBL Limbsaver will fit on the Cowboy, but it would require a little fitting with the spacer. All you'd have to do is use some masking tape on the stock and shape the spacer and pad with a fine grit belt sander.

I have the Limbsaver. It worked wonders and the fit was fine for me, not prefect but good enough. Sure tamed the recoil on the hot loads though. I think I got the one for the 1895.
