Any 22 rifle in decent shape is worth 100. The 15y has a youth stock with a shorter length of pull than the xt-22. Also has a 16" barrel instead of 22".

Do you need the smaller stock and shorter barrel. If not, you could buy an XT-22 that uses the box magazine and then buy this adapter.

That's pretty interesting. So this goes in the mag well and you just open the bolt and drop a round on top of it?

 

That is a fair price. I bought one several years ago when the grandson was still a little kid. IIRC I paid about $115.00 out the door. I never did any accuracy work with it. It was bought to teach proper gun handling techniques. It was used mostly to ventilate soda cans. Mine had grooves so mounting a scope was easy. It would make a dandy truck gun. Most all of the older Marlins always shot better than they should based on their price. At that price you should be able to get your money back anytime you decide. Have you bought it yet? Be sure to post pictures.

 

I have 4 of them, one for each grandkid. For $99 I would buy it!

 

Well, I definitely don't need it. I have 3 other 22lr rifles, a 22 mag, and a .17 hmr. I had an old Noble single shot bolt that you had to manually cock that I ended up giving to my brother-in-law, and I miss having a single shot in the collection.

It's a cool old rifle, and it's a Marlin.

Oh yeah, and it will be a great trainer for my 5 year when he starts shooting

Oh, by the way... my 22's are Savage Mark II, Marlin Model 60 (with the 18 round mag tube), old Ruger 10/22, my 22 mag is a Marlin XT22M, and my 17 is the Savage R39317G.

 

if it were me, Id buy it! Ive got a Glenfield 10 I love to play with. Single shots are so much fun!

 

I haven't bought it yet, but here's a picture of it. He actually gave it a cold blue bath and cleaned up the stock really well for me.

It's still rough around the edges, but I like the way it looks.

 

I raise 2 boys and a few neighborhood kids on a 15Y and it's still in good shape...except #1 son found a 1/2"x28 die one day and fitted it with a can. Still shoots the same and the suppressor makes it a fun thing to have around. Maybe someday he will turn his back and I'll bring it home with me.

 

I'd buy it. I got a 15YN, I think that's the numbers, for my nephew several years ago. I paid $150 for it. It was like new an the bolt was never even cycled by the looks of it. Taught him to shoot with it. It shoots really well an it's JM stamped.
