I believe so. I'm not a Remington expert but I think the 2 3/4" guns are smaller frame and 3" are large (20ga). I'm trying to figure out when this one was made. I know earlier 28's had a 25" barrel and later ones, like this one, are 27".
The 28 ga got popular in skeet shooting. It could compete in the same class as the 410. 28 ga parrerns way better than a 410. And they are a fun grouse gun. Loaded my double barrel with 7 shot and got a few of them with it. 7 shot performs better on grouse than 7 1/2.
Remington made the 1100 for skeet shooters.
Great Gun, and Beautiful wood- I saw one, same model and real nice wood furniture like this at a gun show yesterday, in the box and unfired as well. Very sought after.
SWEET! I saw a Tournament Skeet 28 once, but I was passing through the communist state of Illinois and could not buy it as a non-resident. Guess they were afraid I'd go shoot some pigeons in Chicago. They would not even let me hold it until I showed them my retired military ID card.
