JW-15 owners,
Please share with me what scopes you have mounted and if you removed the sights in order to mount your scope.

I recently picked up a JW-15 and have been trying to put a scope on it but that rear sight keeps getting in the way. I'm sure that I just have to find the right scope.

If your not shy, feel free to post pictures of your JW-15s with scopes mounted.

I would also be interested in the accuracy that you are getting.

Thanks,
Wannabe

Bought one from a Pawn shop with a Redfield 3x9 on it. Sweet. Accuracy was better than I was. Minute of squirrel everytime. Don't remember putting it on paper. Brother needed a scoped 22 and away it went.

Just got another and will be scoping it shortly. Haven't shot this one yet. Front sight is loose.

I have five JW-15's of various configurations. The rear sight usually needs to be drifted off for a decently mounted (low) scope. I love these rifles. They shoot very well; on par with anything when fed the right ammo.

These rifles were first imported in 1982 by "Clayco" out of Clay Center Kansas. These rifles are a clone of Brno/CZ rifles and they first hit the market when Easter Bloc guns were banned so they were of interest to me. I worked at gun shop at the time and I coughed up the $49 it cost for a standard model and took it out with some Winchester Super-X after work one night. Man! It shot great! I shot about 10 groups from the hood of my pickup and posted them in the shop the next day. Everyone who came in got one of these rifles pitched to him and I sold us out in a week. I think I ended up selling about 60 of them in all. Later I set up quite a few for "Sporter Class" NRA .22 Silhouette shooting. The Clayco's had adjustable triggers, which made them a little sweeter than the later Interarms JW-15. The JWs cam ein some intersting configurations though. One of mine has a three leaf express sight. The wood is all "packing crate" but the metal work is generally good and they are tough as heck.

You should enjoy yours. (Let me know if you tire of it!) ~Andrew

Andrew,
I was hoping that you would reply.

I'm planning to keep this one a while, at least until I can see what it can do. In fact, I have my eye on another one.

I don't want to remove the rear sight if I can help it so I will have to mount something short or at least as high as the sight.

Please share what scopes you have on yours as well as what ammo they like. I would also appreciate it if you could post a few pictures of them.

Thanks,
