That is a nice rifle. I agree that he Ruger carbines are slick. I was able to find a 99/44 recently to add to my 44 rifle tribe.

 

We recently did some trading and were able to finance one of these in 44 mag. It is technically a carbine, what with its 20" barrel and short 36" overall length. The most comfortable to shoot 44 mag I've ever shot.

I love the #1 and the little .44 would look ever so nice in my rack along side my 45/70.

Only thing that makes it better is the replacement of the Alexander Henry forend groove with a nice piece of ebony or walnut. Then it is pure classic!

yeah same question cdoc what is the ops carbine? I like the full length stock. but...when you bring out the ruger #1 well that is a sweet rifle there. hmmm thinking about it, might look good next to my #1 in 45-70 also..................

 

Very nice. Had one of those 77/44 standard models, a real delight as a walk about woods deer rifle. Sold it, miss it, and in the market for another. Didn't know about the mannlicher model, thanks for sharing, will try to hold out for one of those.

That #1 44 mag is sweet, it is the first pic I have seen of one and it should be a tack driver.

 

I think they're all beautiful! That RSI looks to have some real nice wood too!

 

I've had several of the old Ruger 44mgs in the original semi autos. I bought one new when 1st out.. Had a couple #3s in 44mg, but
never owned a #1. All very accurate as long as you don't expect to shot long range.

 

You sir, have one beautiful rifle! I had no idea that the Ruger carbine was even offered in a mannlicher version. I am a sucker for a mannlicher stock rifle. Thanks for sharing!

 

My Ruger semi-auto .44 mag carbine was stolen in a burglary the Saturday before Christmas, 1986. I still mourn the loss of that rifle....

 

Thanks for the nice comments on the No 1 in 44 mag, folks,. Didn't mean to horn in on the OPs thread, though. Will do my own post on it, soon as I get it outfitted with a Skinner peep.
