Henry H001, what are your opinions on them. I myself don't care for them, but then some have said I am to opinionated.
I have the Henry Frontier and it has been great so far. It is a very good shooter and the trigger was tight when new but is now comparable to my 39A Marlins. As far as accuracy my wife and I have 16 Marlin 39A's and the Henry will out shoot at least 12 of the 16. Are they built like the Marlin? No they are not. The average shooter I don't think can wear one out and most can afford the Henry and some can not afford the Marlin. The painted cover sucks as far as I am concerned but it is not hard to change the appearance for the better. The Frontier has no plastic sights or barrel band. The later model 001 also changed to metal. For the difference in price the Frontier is the better one and I like the octagon barrel. Here is my Frontier with the paint removed and a 001 my wife just got from her friend that I will strip the paint soon. I will not part with my Frontier and I am a Marlin guy. But that is just how good it works and shoots.I owned two at one time.
They handle like the Browning BL 22 in that they are light, compact, and point nice.
The comparison ends there.
The Henry cycles so smooth, but the short throw on the BL is totally different, as is the overall quality superior.
The Henry's fit is only OK and the finish is why I sold both.
The painted receiver cover scratches too easily.
That said the H001TER is a different cover with everything else I want in a lever 22...oct. bbl, large loop, short, and tight.
there's 2 cents worth
