I dropped my Camp 9 into a Chote folder stock because the original stock had a few nasty finish hacks in it. I was looking at it today and since there are no dents or wood chips I think I will refinish it. I assume the stock is birch. So if anyone has refinished theirs , what did you use , and how did it turn out ?

Note: the Camp 9 stock fits a 922-M with a little hand-fitting...

Any idea if one of those will fit a 922-M?? (Camp 922-Magnum)

They fit with a minor amount of modification!!
Mag release is on the Other side, so ya haveta file a bit off to make room...not hard at all to do :D
The other thing is a little work to the trigger-guard area to make it fit perfectly...also not hard to do!!
Of course, you also have to do the mods that make 'em fit a Camp 9 as well, escutcheons & whatnot...

I'm considering a Choate stock for a camp 9 I ordered. I like the idea of the folder but am worried about the fit. I'm a short guy with a big chest and short arms. What is the length of pull on the folder when open? Can you lose a little length by replacing the butt-pad with their 1/2 incher? Also wondering if anyone knows the overall length of their adjustable model from muzzle to butt?
Good luck with your project.

I just placed my Camp 9 into a Choate telescoping stock. I was replacing a damaged stock. Very nice setup. Minor fitting required for bolt release button and receiver area. Also had to add a couple of washers to shorten the rear stock screw. The OAL from muzzle to butt is 34-37.5 inches. Trigger pull is 12.75-16 inches. Hope that helps.

Greetings, This is my first post on MarlinOwners. This is a terrific resource and I'm in awe of the level of knowledge and experience out there. Hopefully I'm not doing this the wrong way or in the wrong place. If so, I hope that somebody will point me in the right direction ... Anyway, I have a checkered stock on a recently acquired camp 9 that hasn't seen much use, if any, so is in excellent condition. The gun even had the original, in-tact, yellowish/cream colored recoil buffer - that is until after I put about 100 rounds of standard ammo downrange (50 - 115 Grain TCJ Precision Reloads / 50 - 124 Grain TMJ Speer Lawman) which, of course, cracked the original recoil buffer (just couldn't wait for the new buffer to go shoot it). There was no other damage thankfully. I've since then replaced the original recoil buffer and spring (Blackjack Buffer and Wolff 16.5# spring). I haven't shot the gun since the aforementioned recoil upgrades and I'm concerned about the stock cracking since I've read about this being an issue on these CC's. Is anyone aware of stock cracking issues happening after the heavier recoil spring and upgraded buffer were installed - or is this problem pretty much limited to the OEM designed lighter springs in combination with the OEM designed brittle buffers? I'm the type to clean and examine my firearms after each use - regardless of the number of shots fired. So I'll know if there are any new recoil buffer issues after each outing and will replace as necessary and I will replace the buffer after 5000 rounds, necessary or not, since that's the "guaranteed" life span of the BlackJacks. Thanks' in advance for sharing your experiences.

Welcome aboard Microman!

No real sense of any issues after spring/buffer replacement that I know of, but many on here have more knowledge/experience than I do...In my experience stock cracking happens when the original buffer desintigrates and then the bolt slams into the back of receiver and stock. You're smart to replace buffer and spring right off, factory Camp stocks are next to impossible to find and ate expensive when you do.
