Barnes VOR-TX Ammunition 30-30 Winchester 150 Grain Triple-Shock or LEVERevolution Ammunition 30-30 Winchester 140 Grain MonoFlex . Does anyone here have experience with both? I have to shoot lead free ammo where we hunt.

Thanks in advance.

Well, if you have to shoot lead free I would pick up a box of each and try both in your rifle, *your* gun may show a very strong preference for one over the other. I would think accuracy to be the over riding factor. I think you will find both to have ample penetration, I will defer to those who have used them as to which bullet offers potentially better expansion.

I've never used either one myself, but if it was me I would have to try a box of each and do a bench test comparison since it appears you have limited choices. Let the rifle tell you what she prefers and go from there... putting it where it counts, ha! Assuming we're talking Deer at reasonable ranges here, I'm not quite as picky on bullets as I am on larger game, as long as they group well. Good luck to you.

The Vor-tex was accurate in my 30-30 and although I never killed a deer with them I did recover some that had went through a sheet of plywood and buried up in a sandy clay behind the backstop. They were not expanded the way the triple shock tipped bullet expands in my 350 rem mag but rather had a small flared out nose that was ragged and sharp and miked .60 cal which should be excellent on deer. I guess what I am trying to say is that instead of looking like a classic mushroomed bullet that we are accustomed to the Vortex just expanded on the nose but it was substantial.
