I been thinking of sending out my 444P to have a nickel finish put on by E Auther Brown company.They did my Encore 50 cal muzzleloader barrel about 12 years back and the finish is better than stainless.

 

I've been thinking about having either cerakote or gun kote on my gbl. Interesting thread I'm also interested to see what everyone else thinks.

Not yet but I want to have something done to my SBL.. I had it media blasted when it was converted to a take down but I think I would like a nice Cerakote or something ( really dont like the media blast look any more) eh..

My problem is basically that I'd like to have RPP do some work on the rifle, but as far as I know they don't do hard chroming. I'd like to do "one stop shopping", but also want to make sure I get as good a finish as possible. My knowledge of the differences is very limited.

 

I've had several parts of my 2014 1895 BLG coated with KG Guncoat. My friend swears by it over any other coating. So far it's held up really well.

I've been itching to find a beater Cowboy to cut down and if I do this is the finish I'm going to use.

 

I had my 1895SS Cerakoted in Graphite Black. Looks great and is extremely durable. The attachment is before Cerakote.

 

I just arranged to have my SBL NP3 coated by Robar. I'm very excited about it.

 

Before you send them the rifle, read up on the reviews at KG Guncoat's web site. Their finish was tailored to a coating especially for tools and guns of all types used by the Seal Teams. My friend that does it researched several brands of coatings for over a year before he went with the KG Guncoat. With what he shared with me, I have had him do a few pieces for me.

Had My 1895 GS done in Robar's NP3 3 years ago, stills looks brand new. slick as ice and tough as nails, it ain't cheap though.
