I was looking at the Accuracy Systems AR-10 in 450Marlin...anyone own one of these? I found a post on this but not details, I was originally toying with a 450bushmaster...but...no way would I gofor that if a 450Marlin exists and is decent!!
Does this count as marlinitis if I want a black gun in a Marlin caliber?(hoping I haven't caught another strain of the disease!)
Looks cool as hell and I am not one for black rifles, but hell, I already reload for the 450marlin!! Need some details though as to how it performs, real life, not the hype on the website.
Check it out, just scroll down or do a search on the page for 450marlin

If I wasn't sitting in Detroit airport, I might have had to have "private" moment over the thought of a 450 Marlin on the AR platform. It's probably sacrilege but I figure Mr. Marlin is rolling plenty in his grave these days anyway.

That would be called BRD or "Black Rifle Disease", which is just as bad as Marlinitis.

A point or two? Dear lord this ought to earn some kind of title like duke or baron of enabling. Combine two somewhat controlled addictions in one place? Yea you are on your way to some kind of title.

Do you think they'll offer an optional lever for the receiver? I'm not much of an AR guy but it does seem mighty interesting.

I was thinking today that a saddle ring on my 450 bushmaster would be really nice. :ahhhhh:
The only thing I would trade it for is a 458 socom. Can't see myself needing much more. Sure does a (bang up) job on a deer. The look on my sons face was priceless when he broke in the 450 on a deer. If there ever was a smack down that was one.

I sure didn't need this thread. I have been considering a 458 SOCOM but having an AR-10T in .308 the 450M sure is tempting. Now if I can just come up with another tax return..or win the lottery...or find $1600.00 I would be set. Gotta start saving!

Go get one, Devil Dog! I know I want one but, since I don't have a AR-10 platform, it's a whole rifle for me. I'm not big on being the guinea pig and have read some internet sniping between this company and another with no real firm "I love it" along the way. I'm not throwing stones here, but I don't want to be the first one off the plank.

Semper Fi!
