I would like to chime in if I may. After reading all the comments about the great Marlin rifle comments, I have to agree. Owning only six of them,(my 35 336;38 spl CBC,32-20 CL three of my favorites), I feel the Marlins were given a back seat to the Winchester. We all know it was the stronger action. I have Winchesters as well, but.....who can argue with success? On the reloading platform. I have and use 550B's...12 of them. They are all set up for different companion calibers where the shellplate is compatible with the case. Noting the comment about using Dillon presses, well, use them appropriately. I am not, a speed loader, but I like using my time diligently. In other words, I don't like wasting time changing dies. You do your thing ,I do mine.(BTW, I started out on an old Herters) Ok, 'nuf said. I would suggest us gun owners to stock up on brass of their choices. It may get available down the road, but it is also going to get more expensive. Have you priced primers lately? Last I heard, one shooter paid$190 + tx for 1k!!! Gezzz! Moving on. I have been casting since 1968....that's all I do now. I have no less than 80 different molds.(I started molding bullets on our home kitchen range) I also have a lot of lead to last me for the next 20 years. Yes, I have shot jacketed bullets in the past...no more...well, very little now. My advice to newbies...start reloading.....now! The investment will amoritize itself if you shoot alot. And I stress alot! You can find used stuff on Ebay as you all well know. The casual shooter, well, an O press will do EVERYTHING a Dillon will do, only slower. And don't fall into the cliques that progressive presses are not accurate.BS!!! (FYI, I am not and have not been a agent of any reloading companies) I went from an old C-H, to a Lyman Turret, a RCBS jr., and finally Dillon and one Hornady Progressive.(Oh. still have and use my old, old, Herter turret. An antique). I guess what I am trying to instill in this post is, the benefits of my wisdom of my ways, DO IT NOW. In the final analysis....I'm lucky.
I'm optimistic but with a pessimistic view point. Well, I guess everyone is tired of reading of what an ol' guy pontificates. But hey, I still shoot competitively, at 82, I still hold my own. On closing, the 35 Rem will kill at 200 yds!(tab wont let me insert a picture I would like to pass on. how do I insert? ) ( If any viewers want to converse with me to "trade" secrets, my url is available.WHATEVER YOU HAVE....DON'T SELL!!!
