I heard about them years ago on Graybeard's, they are indeed a legit company. Did they have a limit? When paying shipping I typically buy extra....

 

I didn't see a limit posted anywhere on their web site, but maybe it would depend on their inventory levels.

 

If you’re ever in Maine, go to the store. An awesome place. Although their prices have gotten pretty high in recent years. It used to be my go to for quality used Marlins. I bought a .35 REM 336 from there for $325 just a couple years ago.

I ordered this online from Kittery Trading Post in Maine late Sunday night. Total cost for 40 rounds, sales tax, and normal shipping was $136.93. I had never heard of this company, much less ordered from them, until another forum member mentioned them a few days ago. Thanks @jog! Although I would have preferred Remington Core Lokt, after searching for this caliber of ammo for nearly two years, I will gladly take the Winchester, and I was impressed with how quick Kittery got the rounds to me. I am sure glad you got some ammo for the mighty 35 Rem. I also am glad that I reload, those prices are crazy but that is the norm for this bad economy.

 

I have dies and components and will eventually reload for my 336. But I wanted some factory ammo to sight in and hunt this season before I got bogged down in load development. I have to get on the ball because my season ends in early January, so I've only got a couple weeks to get it done.

Holy Cow. Man I'm sure glad I load my own. Using the same brass for several years now, and
my current components I load mine for .63 a piece.
Unless I load cast then we're talkin around .40 each or Less.

I've hunted in Maine off and on since 1981. My last hunt there was 2021. We used to stop there years ago to buy our licences en route to the Sebec Lake region to deer hunt. It is a great store, but has proven to be very crowded as we pass through in early September on bear hunts. So we no longer stop as it's just way too crowded with tourists.

Years ago, late 80s or early 90s, I picked up a set of barrels for my Valmet 412 for a great price. And my last purchase there was a Browning BAR GRII from 1969 still NIB, via the internet about 20yrs ago (also a great deal). It's unfortunate for us that we now pass by due to the crowded lot and store because it's still tourist season when we go for our bear hunts. Great store 👍

 

I reload the 35. ive got brass and bullets. thank god. I understand if you want your gun to go bang you had to pay the price. not long ago I payed 75.00 for 1,000 large rifle primers. some folks say I got a good price.

 

Um, I was excited to see some primers yesterday for $78 per thousand. Not what I needed and passed. I've been paying around $90 for what I want/need. Been passing on the CCI BR4's for $150 LOL! Right now, if I see small pistol mag under $100, I will buy them all.

 

I'm in the store at least twice a week. Stay away on weekends!
It may take an hour for an employee to help you.
Weekdays are not too bad.
I can't tell you how many vintage firearms I purchased over the years!
Prior to covid the prices were decent. There a bit high now.

 

I gotta get there again, last time I was down there (3 hours south) I bought my 1895 trapper for $1169 , I'm hoping my next trip is soon when marlin releases the 336 or 1894, I will buy whichever shows up first

 

Got two boxes of .35s. EXPENSIVE! But ya can't shoot what ya ain't got... Will be able to see if my new 760 chambers factory ammunition.
Might even take her out for our late antlerless season...

 

At the prices today if I did not reload I could not afford to shoot, plus making my own bullets helps a lot. Biggest problem I have is finding 2400 for my 1894 44 mag.

Amen! I agree, no way I could shoot as much as I do now.
And I have slacked off some the past year or so.
That said, at this rate I have a few years supply.

Glad you're happy with your order. I too reload 35 Rem. Reloading has gotten expensive too. When considering the price of $56.99 plus shipping for a box of 20 of 35 Rem., reloading is still worth it.

I have bought many a firearm and ammo from them over years. Largest gun store East of the Mississippi. As mentioned prices have gone up a lot but so it has almost everywhere else. The supply and demand issue. They have everyone south of them buying ammo, mostly Mass where you need congressional approval to buy ammo but no restrictions in Maine and they are within a half hour-ish from the Mass line due north of Boston. They're hunting, camping and all outdoor activity supplies are on par with an LLBean store and actually better. For being privately owned they run an impressive business. I've met one of the owner and feel like he is a solid business man.

 

After reading two days ago utvolsfan77 post I called KitteryTrading Post up in Maine and ordered the same two boxes of .35 Remington. The cost was the same $136. Delivery was today (2 day). Excellent service and I highly recommend them.

 

Just bought the last box of hornady ftx .35 rem for $42.99 that Old Town Trading Post had in Old Town Maine had today. They also had 6 boxes of Winchester power points for $61.99 when I left there at noon time

 

And you'll have less than a dollar per round, even at today's prices.

I picked up an 800-round box for $60 a box.
I sure don't plink with 35 Remington!

 

Kittery Trading Post is a good company that has been in business for at l least fifty years or more. The place is a dangerous place to visit due to their high inventory of used guns. The last time my son insisted on stopping there on the way back from a bear hunting trip it cost me $700. My son insisted it would be to “just look” to see what was on the shelves!!! I talked him out of buying a Ruger 77 tang safety in .338 WinMag, then he found “me” a Ruger Hawkeye in .358 WInchester. If ever in Kittery , Maine stop in to the Kittery Trading Post, we’ll worth the stop. This past season cost a guy who we hunt with $700 for a Randall knife that had his name on it!! He was “just lookin” too. I stayed in the truck on this stip!!!

 

Awesome place, not just for guns. Rivals Bean's as noted. Been awhile so I don't even recall what all I got from them over the years. Some "Lehman's Hardware" type homestead stuff back in 83 I know. Always good folks and deals.

 

Kittery Trading post is much better than LL Beans as far as used firearms go.
The company has been in the same spot since 1938.
It's my favorite store in the world! Lots of big boy's toys!

 

I miss Lews Gun Shop in Corinna/Dexter Maine. He always had thousands of guns and reasonable prices

 

Lew was a cantankerous old guy, no doubt. I took buddies that were in Maine with me to his shop and they both loved it, the shop/guns.

A buddy who lived nearby told me he passed and that his wife was so stubborn about the sale of the store's contents that guns got rusty.

My beloved BLR in .358 was bought there back around 1990.
