Why is it so hard to find .35 Remington ammo in less than 200 grain? I realize all ammo is scarce at the moment but I don't think I've seen .35 Rem in less that 200 grain for as long as I've owned my rifle, about two years. At least not at the gun shows I've frequented. I haven't looked hard online. Perhaps that's the way to go.

Unfortunately, these are hard times for us 35rem fans. From a factory standpoint, 200grains is the option. I know Remington used to have a 150grain load, but some will say it is not suitable for tubular magazines due to profile. And with Remington under new ownership, who knows if it will return.
As far as when factory loads will be available, it’s hard to predict. The manufacturers are working overtime to meet demand, that also means they are focusing on the more popular cartridges for the time being.
If your into reloading, Speer offers a 180 grain soft point that is fairly well regarded around the forum.

I hate to say this but it's not the popular cartridge it once was. The factory load was 200gr and limited runs of ammunition mostly copy the most popular load which is the 200gr factory load. Most of the people I know that shoot 35R are shooting the 200gr or heavier either factory ammo or hand loading. I'm loading 168gr hp .357 cast & PC pistol bullets for plinking.

As above, the only factory option under 200 grains is/was the Remington 150 CoreLokt. Contrary to the internet myth that bullet is perfectly safe in tubular magazines and penetrates almost as well as the 200 RN. It has been popular enough for Remington to continue it in production for over 60 years, but I don’t know if it is ever going to be loaded again once Remington ammunition production returns to a new normal.

I know of a place that loads .35 Rem with the 180gr Speer bullet (2100 FPS)

If you're interested, PM me for a link. I've used a LOT of their stuff over the years and it's quality ammo.

Reloading is the best option for the 35. Factory load are almost all 200 grain round nose except for the Hornady flex tip. Lots of guys here can help if you don’t reload. There are a few bullets out there for the 35 that are under the standard 200 gr. Round nose. I always had good luck with Hawk Bullets who offer a 180 grain bullet.

Walked into my local Dunham's Sporting Goods store and they have placed all ammo behind the sales counter. I saw a good bit of it stored on the small shelf and looked up and there was 8 brand new boxes of Remington Core Lokt 35s 200 gr. Could only buy three at the time so I bought three boxes. We usually don't see 35 ammo until late September around here and this was in May this year!! I do reload all my ammo but I also keep factory ammo stocked up too

Maybe get a bunch more posts on the forum before getting PM rights.
Not too many people willing to sell ammo to someone with 2 posts, and just joined.

Be a little patient as it is hunting season and the ammo has been grabbed up as available. They are still making different runs of ammo and it will be available on a limited basis. These are hunting guns not pleasure shooters. Use you .22 for fun and practice. Buy a box or 2 of your ammo when you find it at a decent price.
Have a great day.

I picked up 3 boxes of 200 grain Corelocks at Academy for $39 per box. Wasn't looking for them, but there they were. Saw miscreants wanting $120 or more a box locally. Fortunately at the rate I shoot, usually 1 shot per year, 60 rounds should see me through the rest of my hunting days. For fun I shoot .22's or muzzleloaders, not target shooting at $2-$6 per round.

i got lucky then that the guy that sold me the 35 last week had a box of rem core lokt 150grn.he sold me for $40. said he was saving it for the person who bought the gun. was originally asking $65 for it. everywhere i look online its out of stock as well. anyone reloading 180 grn hunting rounds. id be interested in a box. most im going to shoot this rifle is to sight it in with the new Williams peep sight i just ordered for it. then its for hunting only. i have AR'S and AK'S and .22's that are a hell of alot cheaper to shoot than this and i have thousands of rounds for each.

You can normally find 35 Rem in Federal Blue Box and Hornady both in 200gr in the North East. I have not seen any on the shelves in another weight. Hopefully we will see on the shelves again by the time hunting season rolls around. I reload my own so I get to shoot my 35 Rems much cheaper than buying factory.

@Seth Quintus Ware Welcome to Marlin Owners from Midcoast Maine. Personally I would not buy somebody else's reloads. You never know exactly what you will get. Factory 35 Rem is kind of scarce and expensive right now. You can find some if you go to Gun Broker. How about posting some pictures of your gun?
