I have a pristine, like new, Marlin 1895 STP Limited. I have no idea the value these days. I am the original owner and bought it off the rack at Wild Sports in Orangevale California many years ago. I was working Sheriff's patrol the day I walked into Wild Sports and saw it on the rack. I recall the price tag was $600, but the owner gave me an LEO discount and I bought it for $540 ( I found the original receipt). It has been in the back of my safe for years. I do not even recall if I ever shot it. Serial number 95STP413. At the time I bought it, I did not know it was a limited edition of only 501 made. I did not buy it with collectors intention. I thought I was going to use it as a PIG hunting gun. Never did. A few years back, a buddy offered me $1800 and a Springfield M1A in trade. I declined. I already had three M1A rifles. Any input on the true value of these rifles would be greatly appreciated.

Tough to determine the “true” value of any rifle right now. Obviously you have a rare one and $1800 was offered. These days guns are going for crazy prices with panic buying. With all the fear and anxiety finding a true vale is tough. Suggest you take it to several collectors and inquire.
