Hi all first post hope this is a redundant question, but are the stocks and forends interchangeable between the 1894 and 1895? I’m looking for a straight grip non checkered stock to put on my 1895 and all I can find is one for an 1894. Will marlin sell me a 1895CB stock and forend?

There are several good threads on this topic in the Gunsmithing section. Here is a direct link:

This is a great site to find out info just like this. Welcome to MO! I assume you live in or near your screen name. If so, I am envious; it's my favorite place to visit when "out west". I get there whenever I can. Close enough to the Tetons, far enough from the yahoos at Yellowstone, and not with the snobs in Jackson Hole!

George is correct.

Just as a side note, I had to get a replacement butt stock for my new 1895CB from Marlin and the paperwork has it marked as an "1894 Rear Stock." They are the same and that is likely why you only see them as 1894 stocks, because that is how Marlin marks them.

But again, the fore stock will be different.

Thanks for the help. Brownells is where I was talking about finding the cowboy stocks the only one listed was for the 1894CB but it looks like it will work and since I have a account with them it will make it a little bit cheaper. The gun these are going on is a 1895CB so I was able to call Marlin and order a for-end.Great sight I’m glad I found it and yes I do live in Cody and was born a raised I absolutely love it hear.
Thanks for all the help
