Haven't seen one for sale for awhile. Wondering where prices are at. Don't know if they are 1k or 2k or what??
Anybody bought or sold one, heck even seen one for sale. What was the price??

Local gun shop has a Remington 1894 priced at $1499 and it's in rough shape.
Thanks

I won this 1894P on gunbroker for $1630.00 plus $50.00 shipping .......I'm embarrassed to say I paid that much, but I had to have it, I understand theese have gone up in value, I should have bought one years ago when they were new for under 400$ .......times have changed and I guess it's only money, i know i wouldn't have any problem re selling it in the future, but hopefully i can pass it on.

The pistol grip 1894 have always brought more money the regular straight stocked versions. Back before the great price bloom I think they were going for an average of $1200 to $1300. I love me some pistol grips but I don't have a factory one... Hoping a new model will come out some day. You know, a 1894 Deluxe Cowboy :)

I'm a little confused? A Remington 1894?
As far as I know the 1894PG was from long before Remington owned Marlin. I think they might even be presafety models, but don't quote me on that.
With that said, the 1894PG usually catches quite a premium, most people don't even know they exist at all. So even in less than desirable condition, it will probably not be cheap.

Just picked up an 1894 Cowboy Limited in .44 mag yesterday. 962.00 out the door. Came with the box, lock, scope rail, and all paperwork. Cycled real smooth in the shop. Jammed on the first shot. Every screw on the thing was loose. Shoots wonderful now! The stock may have been shortened a half inch. I may sell it. don't know yet. It shoots well but I really want a Ruger No. 1 in .270.

Selling guns right now is the same as selling your home in a hyper inflated housing market. Sure, you make buku bucks but where you gonna live after you sell your home? Buy another house? OK go ahead & pay a hyper inflated price for your new home. Rent until the market settles down? Good luck on that one.

Here's my track on the model. Nearly all prices are from Gunbroker completed auctions:

Marlin 1894 Rifle in .44 Mag, JM Marked.
Blue Book of Gun Values (41st Edition) indicates between $525 in 95% condition and $695 in 100% condition for this gun [BBGV is behind the curve]. I have 576 recorded prices for this model gun from $365 to $3500 over a period of 7 Yrs 2 Mos ending March 9, 2023. The overall average price as of that date was $1007. No refurbs, no refinishes, regular sights. No distinction for import location or engineering revision, if any, no special editions, no distinctions for box, papers, tools. Current or last MSRP is $835. The last 133 prices I have for this model since 1/8/2022 range from $650 to $2625 averaging $1212.

True, BUT...... with the consideration of recent inflation, I'd say the top 25% (ie. sales in the last year only) of those sales are truly representative of "current" values. I know I wouldn't let that model go for less than $1500-$2000 depending on condition, unless it's in truly poor shape.

GunBroker really throws a wrench into trying to determine a value on a gun. Stuff can sell for big bank, then the same gun a week or month later will go for far less. One thing it does do, is it makes folks think what they have is worth what the top one sold for on GunBroker. This is evident at gunshows and in gunshops. You look at something and the price just floors you, and what's the first thing out of the dealer's mouth? "Oh their selling for that much and more on GunBroker". My reply to them is always the same, and it usually ticks them off. I tell them "If I wanted to pay GunBroker prices, then I would shop on Gunbroker where there is far more selection to chose from than you have here in your store, or on your table". The look on their faces is as priceless as the stuff they are trying to peddle at those hyper inflated prices. If you have a gun and want to sell it at those types of prices, then good luck to you. You can list it on GunBroker, pay the listing fees, pay the final value fees, collect the taxes and pay them to GunBroker, or you can sell it for a fair price privately on a forum or FTF and avoid all the hassle.
I think 5Wire's assessment above of an overall average price is pretty accurate, at least for what I would pay. Guns listed here in the marketplace that have GunBroker prices on them rarely sell. Guns listed for a fair price usually do. My last two I sold here were fairly priced and sold. I could have put them on GunBroker and got a couple hundred more, but why bother? In then end, I would end up with the same amount in my pocket. It's more desirable to me to just deal directly with a buyer and no fees, taxes or buyers premium, which GB also charges now.
