I understand those are hard to find with a good bore. How does it look from the breach end?

That is a beauty - I have a .25-20 in single shot Savage - have always wanted an 1894 as well - went to an auction last weekend in hopes of making a score. However, the $3800 price tag when the hammer fell was far beyond my comprehension and my wallet. . . Congrats on a great find. . .

I love the Sportsman models from that period. They had a longer sight radius for older eyes! Nice acquisition.
