I wont mount anything I have to drill a hole on the side of the receiver. I have some of the buttstock carriers with loops and the zippered bag. The buttstock carriers work good but loops wont hold ammo tight if left for a long period. Also had all the ammo fall out of zipper bag when hunting and zipper opened up a little.Best bet for home would be a good ammo belt that could be quickly put on or used as a bandolero . Also attach a light and maybe a knife on belt.

Seems to me that pulling ammo from a buttstock carrier on a lever gun would be more "ergonomic" than pulling them from the off-side (left) of the receiver. Just seems like it is a more fluid motion to pull it from the stock area and feed it into the side loading gate. Maybe it's just me.

Here you go: In 30-30, 45-70, 44 mag, 357 mag.

Oh, and I almost forgot the Hoptic Lever Gun sidesaddles. Made in 38/.357 30-30 45-70 .44 Mag

The only fly in the ointment is it requires one of those new fangled MI lever action handguards like this:

"BobinNC" - Thank you for posting the Cartridge "Quiver" - this looks like a good one.

I went with a "2 Round Holder" by Rifles Only Gear: I covered it with more elastic to conceal the rounds - however this "QUIVER" looks properly designed and more tactically sound.

I also went with a "Rifle Stock Pack" by Patrol Incident Gear for "On-the-Gun Storage". Adding and then painting the "Quiver" will only give more character to my "Tactified" (And aesthetically ruined) 336.

Agreed. For the stereotypical home defense scenario. I am thinking more towards the bug out scenario, where “something” happens and you need to grab and go, where seconds count and grabbing anything more than just the rifle is out of the question.

Totally hypothetical and unlikely, but just wanted to open up some discussion, since this is the tactical section.

I know tactical is better suited to the AR15 style platform, but to me, levers are more “my style” so adapting one for multiple tasks scenarios is intriguing.
Some of us aren't "bugging out", we chose to live as outliers and accept the lack of "conveniences".

Had a passing tactical thought. Why are there no ammunition side saddles for lever guns? The most common tube fed home defense firearm (shotgun) have a plethora of side saddle options are are often seen wearing them while in the role of home defense gun. As we know, the side saddle offers additional ammunition at the ready to an otherwise “low capacity” firearm.

Lever actions are also “low capacity” (compared to standard capacity AR15 magazines at least). So why not manufacture a side saddle for lever actions?

These side saddles could be “bolt on” or applied using velcro, just like their shotgun counterparts.

I am aware there are butt stock saddles which hold ammunition, but are not as ergonomic/tactical as a receiver side mounted ammunition saddle.

Thoughts and discussion.
There are, they are generally made of leather or elastic and hold the rounds on the buttstock. My guess is you could find them at any gunstore.
