Have a Springfield XDs 45 that I bought several years ago. Picked up an IWB holster for it some time back that fits the gun well, but there's no flap behind the top corner of the slide and rear sight, so it can be can be a bit of a pain (literally), to carry at times. Never had a mag pouch for it, always dropped that in my pocket when carrying.
Ads started popping up on my Farcebook page some time back for Versacarry Holsters, I looked at them briefly, nice holster, but I blew it off. Couple weeks ago one popped up for 50% off blemished holsters, that got my attention, and I decided to give them another look. Went to their website - Concealed Carry Holsters - Versacarry® - I was impressed with the selection of styles offered to begin with. Finding the right holster was easy enough, pick your holster, drop down menu offers a long list of popular guns, in popular calibers, it tells you which size holster you need, you select Size, Left/Right Hand, and Color, couldn't be any easier.
Had dropped the Guardian Arc Angel Edition holster with separate Double Mag Pouch in my cart, then I wandered into the "Bundle" section. There I found the same holster, with single mag pouch, AND a matching belt, at greater savings yet. So I opted for that selection instead. Price for the works was very reasonable, as was shipping; holster, pouch, and belt, with shipping came to $80.99 when bundled.
Received my goodies the other day, and I've got to say, they're pretty impressive! AND, 100%... Made in the USA!
Leather work is very nicely done, layered construction to add strength where necessary, single layer and ported to allow a little give and stretch where needed. Everything is cleanly cut, very nice job on the stitching. I was pretty impressed right off.
Dug it all out and initial thoughts on the pouch was, "It ain't big enough. No way." But, it fits the extended mag really nice, standard mag will slide in fully. Being new, it is of course, nice and snug.
Holster isn't molded if that's what you're looking for, but it too is a nice snug fit and will no doubt mold to the gun with time and use. Directions say to insert and wiggle the gun around a bit to loosen the holster up, but mine didn't wiggle in there guys. Had to back it out a little to find any wiggle room at all, and that wasn't a lot.
Belt is a nice 1 1/2" wide, heavy belt; definitely designed for the job. I'd give it a full 1/4" thick, maybe 5/16". Dual layer construction, but it's a solid chunk of Water Buffalo Hide, let me tell you! Again very cleanly cut, and finished, really a nice belt. Snap grommets, and a solid nickel plated buckle. Recently bought a belt from Hanks Belts (and picked up belt dressing with that purchase), the Versacarry belt is pretty comparable. I spent a little extra on the Hank's belt and opted for screw grommets and a heavier buckle there, so I really can't fault the Versacarry belt in comparison on those items. Both are damn fine belts, and capable of carrying a sidearm without any problem.
Broke out the belt dressing and rubbed it all in good, it's no longer the distressed brown for the moment, but that should come back as it soaks up the oils and dries.
Strapped it all on to see how it looked, T-Shirt I was wearing was in a batch that was marked wrong, I ordered 2X they're all on the 1X side, so it fits a little snug, but I was impressed with how well it all tucked in and disappeared. Wearing a too small T-shirt with extended mag, if I turned hard to the left the butt of the magazine printed a little, not in a fashion it would be obvious what it was to the general public however. LEO might recognize it, someone familiar with carry might recognize it, rest of the world, would probably think it the corner of a cell phone.
Gotta give the folks at Versacarry 2 Big Thumbs Up on this set up, very nice holster, pouch, and belt at an affordable price.
