Versacarry Holsters

Have a Springfield XDs 45 that I bought several years ago. Picked up an IWB holster for it some time back that fits the gun well, but there's no flap behind the top corner of the slide and rear sight, so it can be can be a bit of a pain (literally), to carry at times. Never had a mag pouch for it, always dropped that in my pocket when carrying.

Ads started popping up on my Farcebook page some time back for Versacarry Holsters, I looked at them briefly, nice holster, but I blew it off. Couple weeks ago one popped up for 50% off blemished holsters, that got my attention, and I decided to give them another look. Went to their website - Concealed Carry Holsters - Versacarry® - I was impressed with the selection of styles offered to begin with. Finding the right holster was easy enough, pick your holster, drop down menu offers a long list of popular guns, in popular calibers, it tells you which size holster you need, you select Size, Left/Right Hand, and Color, couldn't be any easier.

Had dropped the Guardian Arc Angel Edition holster with separate Double Mag Pouch in my cart, then I wandered into the "Bundle" section. There I found the same holster, with single mag pouch, AND a matching belt, at greater savings yet. So I opted for that selection instead. Price for the works was very reasonable, as was shipping; holster, pouch, and belt, with shipping came to $80.99 when bundled.

Received my goodies the other day, and I've got to say, they're pretty impressive! AND, 100%... Made in the USA!

Leather work is very nicely done, layered construction to add strength where necessary, single layer and ported to allow a little give and stretch where needed. Everything is cleanly cut, very nice job on the stitching. I was pretty impressed right off.

Dug it all out and initial thoughts on the pouch was, "It ain't big enough. No way." But, it fits the extended mag really nice, standard mag will slide in fully. Being new, it is of course, nice and snug.

Holster isn't molded if that's what you're looking for, but it too is a nice snug fit and will no doubt mold to the gun with time and use. Directions say to insert and wiggle the gun around a bit to loosen the holster up, but mine didn't wiggle in there guys. Had to back it out a little to find any wiggle room at all, and that wasn't a lot.

Belt is a nice 1 1/2" wide, heavy belt; definitely designed for the job. I'd give it a full 1/4" thick, maybe 5/16". Dual layer construction, but it's a solid chunk of Water Buffalo Hide, let me tell you! Again very cleanly cut, and finished, really a nice belt. Snap grommets, and a solid nickel plated buckle. Recently bought a belt from Hanks Belts (and picked up belt dressing with that purchase), the Versacarry belt is pretty comparable. I spent a little extra on the Hank's belt and opted for screw grommets and a heavier buckle there, so I really can't fault the Versacarry belt in comparison on those items. Both are damn fine belts, and capable of carrying a sidearm without any problem.

Broke out the belt dressing and rubbed it all in good, it's no longer the distressed brown for the moment, but that should come back as it soaks up the oils and dries.

Strapped it all on to see how it looked, T-Shirt I was wearing was in a batch that was marked wrong, I ordered 2X they're all on the 1X side, so it fits a little snug, but I was impressed with how well it all tucked in and disappeared. Wearing a too small T-shirt with extended mag, if I turned hard to the left the butt of the magazine printed a little, not in a fashion it would be obvious what it was to the general public however. LEO might recognize it, someone familiar with carry might recognize it, rest of the world, would probably think it the corner of a cell phone.

Gotta give the folks at Versacarry 2 Big Thumbs Up on this set up, very nice holster, pouch, and belt at an affordable price.

I heard about this company last year and bought a holster for my Block 23 .
It's been my daily carry since I got it . Haven't used my other 15 plus holsters since.

Good to hear from someone with more than a couple days experience. Given the quality I'm seeing in construction, and your comments, I assume it's holding up well, which is reassuring on my end.

I'll have to take a look at Versacarry. I'm not a fan of plastic holsters.

I will give a thumbs up (y) for Hank's belts. I have two different colors that I use everyday for the last year and a half. Well made here in the USA. 🇺🇲
Love my Hank's Belt, it was a little spendy, but I'm tired of paying $25 - $30 for belts that seem to be well made, and they're trashed after a year's use. Cell phone clip rips threads in stitching, tears the inner layer, they curl and twist, and stretch beyond reason. The Hank's Belt hasn't exhibited any of these tendencies in 4 months use, hard to find a scratch on it from the cell phone clip honestly. Made in the USA, with warranty and satisfaction guarantee was a definite plus, in both the Hank's and Versacarry purchase on my end!

One plus I did notice on the Versacarry belt versus the Hank's belt. My Hank's belt wasn't thinned at the buckle, so it's a little bulky up front when new and stiff, that seems to be stretching flatter with use, but the Versacarry belt the leather plies are thinned a little where they wrap over the buckle and connect at bolster, so they lay a little flatter at the buckle. Otherwise the leather work is very comparable in the two, and Versacarry does offer a double stitched belt that looks to be more solid yet, but that one wasn't offered in the Bundle.

Like you, I am not a fan of plastic holsters and sheaths. Have a custom made knife that came with Kydex sheath, and it is such a detraction to the knife itself. So much work put into the knife, it's truly a classy piece, then to throw it in a plastic sheath just seems so undeserving. Need to find someone to build a nice leather sheath for that one.

I think you'll find the Versacarry product to your liking!

Love it! Great hearing these reports from folks that have been using them and happy.

Nice review and beatiful holster, I bought one a few months ago and I really like it. I can use it for several different guns and that comes in handy when I am shooting matches at the club. Its shown with a Sig P320 M17 in it. Cant beat em for the price, they are very versatile.

Had picked up a used Galco, auction sale, bought it cheap. While it does work, problem is, it's not molded to fit the XDs so fit isn't clean on it. I kinda like the versatility thing and being able to use it with other guns option too. Good to hear it works well in that respect.

I ordered me a holster and belt from them this morning! I'm sure I will get years of service from both.

You will be pleasantly surprised I'm sure, I know I was. And, you should have it very shortly... Ordered mine 1:02 am Friday 10/1, received notice it was shipped Tuesday 10/5 at 10:44 am, it arrived in the mail Thursday 10/7. They're quoting 5 days handling, starting next business day after placing your order, and they're in Bryan, TX so closer to you than they are me, you may see it before the weekend.

I picked up this holster last weekend from a retired gentleman that makes holsters and sells at local gun shows. For $40 bucks I could not pass it up. My Para PXT 1911 fits perfectly, I carried it today.

Belt limbers up and stretches a little, gets a little more comfortable with time.

Likewise, caught another sale and bought a second. Picked up a Guardian with mag pouch, and a double mag pouch to go with that one for my XDm 45. And, picked a double mag pouch to go with original holster for the XDs 45. Probably going to pick up the Delta Carry for that one as well. IWB little finer lined than the OWB, like the way it's built. And, I need a little more leather dressing with all these new belts and holsters. :ROFLMAO:

I can say one thing, when it comes to holsters and gunbelts pay more, buy quality. You will save in the long run, using them for many years. You will also carry more because its more comfortable to do so. I dont carry now, but still use gunbelts bought so long ago that I couldnt put a year on it.
