Since I've updated my collection with the Winchester 1895 in .405 Winchester, thought I'd show what I shoot. The thread is to see what your favorite straight wall cartridges are. Post away, I sure don't own them all....... I do load everything I shoot, and this picture shows most of what I "commonly" use as projectiles.

Left to right:

.405 Winchester 300-grain
.45-70 Government 300-grain
.450 Marlin 350-grain
.444 Marlin 300-grain
.360 Buckhammer 200-grain
.45 Colt 250-grain
.44 Magnum 265-grain
.357 Magnum 158-grain
.38 Special 125-grain

Currently down to 38SPC, 357MAG, and 44MAG, due to my neck injury I sold my 444P. Looking at getting into 38-55 once we leave CA, potentially a high-wall. That and getting back into 45COLT.

I live and hunt in Ohio, which is a straight-wall-only deer hunting state, but without any cartridge length restriction like some other straight wall states have. Therefore, my Classic Model 1895 is my main go-to, with my 1894C in .357 as my secondary. Many other calibers would be legal for me, but that's what I have and use.

32 S&W Long/327 Fed Mag/38 SPL/357 Mag/44 SPL (and 44 SPL +P)/44 Mag/45 Colt (and 45 Colt +P)/375 Win/444 Marlin/450 BM/45-70.
The wife and I shoot 32-20, its not quite a straight wall--but pretty close though.

For straight wall level gun cartridges, I have a Marlin 45-70, a 444 Marlin and a Marlin 45 colt. I used to put a good number of rounds down range each year out of those rifles, but then I got bit by the antique black powder cartridge rifle bug.

Until my health became an issue, I was dabbling with 45-70, and 50-70 government rounds out of 130–150-year-old Trapdoor Springfields and Remington Rolling Blocks. Just recently, I picked up a couple of antique Martini Henry's in 577-450 MH, and one Snider in 577 Snider. I haven't had the opportunity to get to the range and test fire my home-made rounds with those yet. I've been thinking about trying my luck this coming deer season with the old warhorses, if my stomach issues manage to clear up. Here's to hoping.
