I have a few Model 71s to feed now and I have a limited amount of brass. I know Starline did a run on 348 Winchester brass last December and I picked up my first Model 71 a month after.

Currently their 348 brass is on backorder status. Have any of you ever ordered brass from Starline that was backordered ? How long did you have to wait?

Anywhere from a week to more than a year. I bought a bunch of new Winchester off of Gun Broker for $1.00 a piece and got one bag for $.75 each. I'd try that.

I have looked at gunbroker and haven't had the same luck as you. New is going for $2-$3 a piece now adays.

I have been fortunate that I have never waited that long but I have never needed 348.

Ironically 348 was the only thing that they had in stock for a long time. I would wager there is not that much demand for it and the wait may be long. But then again they seem to be somewhat caught up these days.

Try locating shooters of older/odd European calibers.
I told a friend that loads for odd caliber European rifles that I was looking for 348 Win brass. He said 348 Win brass is the parent case used for forming brass for many European calibers. He gifted me some NIB 348 Win brass.

Hard to say what the wait time will be. 38-40 Win was back order status when I ordered some almost a year ago. Received mine couple weeks ago. It being on back order status again I ordered some more to get on the list again. Received it Friday.

The good news is they are taking back orders for your 348. Get on the list. They will eventually run it. Also if it’s a long wait they will email you to see if you still want it when it runs, so no harm in placing the order.
