I was sorting and sizing some cases a couple of weeks ago and noticed about 10 cases with a ring cut around the top of the case. These were cases I had picked up some where and didn't reload or shoot from my rifles. Most were Remington but a couple where Winchester. I just set them aside at the time. Today I took 17 cases out of the factory box that I stuck them in after shooting them. These were all factory loads and not reloaded or sized. All were shot from one of my two rifles. I noticed 3 of 17 had the same mark as the cases I had gotten from someone else. I tried to get a picture of it and I can feel it with my fingernail. I have not trimmed the cases but trimming to minimum length would not take the ring off. I crimp and this would be right where the crimp would be. Is this mark from the previous factory crimp? If not what from and are they okay to reuse. Here is the picture the best I could get it.
