I've seen these threads on other model forums, but not on the 1894 forum. So I thought I'd start one. Here's my '79 1894c. Wood is newly refinished. There was a nasty dent in the right side of the forearm that had broken the wood grain. I steamed it out the best i could, but it is still quite noticeable to the eye (less so to the touch). Not perfect, but I think it turned out pretty good.

I probably wouldn't have bothered refinishing this one, but there were a couple places where the original finish was down to the bare wood (in addition to the bad dent). It had obviously seen quite a bit of use over the last 34 years by the previous owner. I was afraid that moisture might get into the wood in those spots where the finish was worn. And I enjoy doing anything involving my Marlins, so it gave me something to do for a couple weeks.

Here is my only one...an 1894 Cowboy Limited in .357 Magnum. Hard to find and easy to love.
