Hey All,

I posted a little bit ago about getting this rifle from a friend and wanted to provide an update. When I took my first in person look at it I could definitely see some minor pitting on the barrel, dabs on the receiver, and some nastier areas on the lever itself. When I got it home I held my breath as I passed the first cotton pad down the barrel...came out clean! Inside the receiver same thing. What a relief. This is my first 336 Marlin and I'm really happy about it!

Now she's all cleaned up (pics attached). I took as much of the rust off the outside as I could and put some Renaissance Wax on it to help keep it protected. Plan on taking it out for deer season and see what happens. For $400 this seems like a good deal.

That is not bad at all. That is a genuine hunting rifle. Congratulations.
