Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and look forward to the knowledge and help I hope to receive.

I have a question for the Admins. I cannot post or reply in the 336 forum yet I see others posting and replying to threads in there today. Is there a reason for that?

Thanks

Howdy, ehenry, and welcome to the camp from northeast Indiana. Have yourself a set-down over here on this stump next to the fire and help yourself to the coffee. Have you got a 336? If so, we noticed you failed to post a picture of it. We like Marlin porn here.

I have had a 1968 336RC 30-30 given to me by the daughter of an old friend that passed away back in 2013. The gun is in moderately poor condition with rusting on the left side of the barrel, mag tube and receiver as well as a broken stock. I plan on cleaning the gun up as best I can and putting a new stock on it. I plan on using it as a carry all shooter in my UTV. We have quite a few feral hogs on our hunting lease and it will be put to good use for that.

Welcome from Western NC. How bad is the stock? Might be reparable. I use a copper penny to remove rust and it works well for me, but there are other methods which you can search here. Good luck on your project and thanks for the pics.

You might use Remoil or equivalent on it and let it soak a few days first. Good luck on your project and thanks for the pics.

Pereira, You're right we aren't far from one another. Since I see you're a 'Distinguished Master' I will pose my question to you. Since I became a member I can post and reply on most every board here except the 336 board. I sent a note via the 'contact us' link but have not gotten a reply. Any help you can give on that would be greatly appreciated. My rifle is a 336 and that is where I should post a bout it.

Thanks !

ehenry, I don't know why you can't post there.
If your able to post here, you should be able to post any where on site.
I'm sure one of the Mods. will get back to you.
Welcome again, sorry about the problem.
