Marlin 60 magazine tube removal

Got a really nice model 60 on trade today. It's one owner and in really good shape. Said he bought new about 10 yrs ago. Only issue is the end of the magazine tube is messed up a little. Looks like it feel at the range or something one time and he used a pair of needle nose to reshape it to work again at the tip. I would like to replace it but can't find a video or tutorial on how. I hear a dovetail pin or something is involved but also read somewhere about removing can totally destroy your rifle and it won't go tightly back together. Can you all provide any input? I'm fairly competent with tools but don't wanna make a poor and uninformed choice on this. Thnx

At the muzzle end the dovetail barrel band is what holds it to the barrel. Look closely and there is a tiny pin drove between the barrel and tube from one side to the other favoring the tube. That little pin is what holds the tube in, drive it out and the tube pulls out.

No, it just rests in the receiver and the pin up front holds it from moving.

It is very simple and if you screw this up you shouldn't be working with tools......period. hehe... Knock the pin out of the front holder and pull the tube out, that easy. Just push the pin out from left to right, I think. The pin goes in and out one way. Other than that it is a breeze. When you put it back in, put the tube in and align the slit on the tube with the hole in the front holder and push the pin in and wiggle the tube to make sure it goes in the slit then tap the pin home.

Good deal. Ill check my serial number to make sure the tubes available and knock this job out! Thank guys! I traded away some crap I don't even use for this rifle and two others this week. Been a good stretch if trading. Dunno much about the model 60's as I'm a 10/22 guy but this looks like a nice little rifle to teach my 2yr old how to shoot on here in a couple years!
