Speculation is that it was dropped due to jamming issues although many members have one that runs fine. If you intend to buy one make sure it will cycle rounds with no issue.

What you quote is just that. A speculation/myth repeated from somewhere else.........Mine has never acted up or jammed.

I saw 2 different ones at gun shows. It has been maybe 4 years or more back so prices are probably not any near current.
#1 had a lot of honest wear and a cheap scope for right around $700
#2 was in very good condition for around $900 or so.

 

Just over 12,000 were made. They are a desirable gun for Marlin enthusiasts. I have one and it functions quite well. I haven't priced them recently but I figure they could sell for $1200+ if in excellent condition.

Is this model 1894M the same size os the classic 1894 ?? I know internally will have many differences. But I want to know if the external size is the same ?

I used to own one until I got stupid and sold it (that's another story though). It functioned flawlessly. I would own another if I didn't have to sell my soul to get one.

 

There were some MO members that did have cycling issues with their 1894Ms that have posted about them. Not all of them have this issue, however.

 

Better open up you wallet wide. I've seen several in my travels over the years and retrieved one at a sane price many years ago. As stated before, $1000 up in today's prices. Mine cycles fine with CCI.

 

The prices on most all Marlins is jacked now, One of the main reasons I got into Marlin was the reasonable prices vs Winchester. That train has left the station.

 

The first 1894M that I ever saw was at a gun show in Forth Worth and I couldn't afford it at that time

it was thirty years before I saw another and I have now had it for 10 years
