Lever rifle owners: how do you carry extra rounds?

I've always wanted a leather lace-on butt cuff cartridge carrier --- just because they look neat.

So I thought about posting a thread asking for suggestions about sources.

But I did an Internet search earlier, and found a few, plus some posts about why they're not so cool.

So, I'm curious: how do lever action rifle owners carry extra rounds.

Of course, if you have a recommendation for a butt cuff holder, leave it here, also.

I added this to post 6, but will edit this OP so that it's here at the gitgo.

I'd like to extend the question a bit, as I should have in my OP.

Clearly, one doesn't need more than 4 rnds to take a deer.

But imagine that you're not just hunting deer.
Maybe you're on an all day hog hunt, and want to take a dozen or 15 shots.

Or we could extend this into the tactical realm, and consider how we'd carry extras in a social meltdown situation.

It boils down to this: IF you wanted to carry more than what fits in the rifle -- for whatever reason -- and have them relatively accessible (e.g., not have to dig for a box in your pack), how would you do it?

Out here you might be out overnight if circumstances occur or you might bump into something that bites.

I would never add anything to my levers. They are light and fast for a reason.

I took a $6 Walmart web belt that had 25 loops for bullets, took it down to Tactical Tailor and had them add more loops until I got 55 loops.
I have one for 30 cal & one for 45/70.

LOL - I was gonna say anything past the first round IS the extra ammo. ;)
Then I'd say that I made myself a butt cuff that can carry extra rounds but just because I like the way it looks, I hid a recoil pad inside and it protects the wood from my butter fingers.

PS: Then I made this waaaaaaay back when - a belt cartridge holder fashioned European style.

There are elastic butt cuffs that are not as bulky as the leather butt cuffs, and pretty inexpensive from a number of sources. If you don't want something fancy in a color matching the color of your gun stock the black elastic buff cuffs work fine, and can be taken off one rifle and onto another in record time.

I also carry a folding ammunition carrier that fits on my belt for my 357 revolver ammunition. I bought this in black along with a black holster for my pistol. Cosmetically it works fine because I always wear a black belt to keep my pants up.

Generally, I use top quality, used women's purses dedicated to the caliber in question. Room for loaded ammo and a place for the brass. They are leather and sling nicely over the shoulder. An exceptio9n is the .45 Colt which is paired to a revolver which hangs from a 60 loop gun belt. If hunting with my .30-40 1895 Win, some extra rifle cartridges replace pistol cartridges in the .45 gun belt.

With a rifle I usually have 3 in the gun and 3 in a pocket.
If shotgun hunting for Ducks or small game it is 3 in the gun and loops full on a hunting coat or vest.
If hunting with a 22, the gun is full and I have a handful in my pocket.
Plus a revolver on my hip.

While hunting I always carry extra ammo in one of several ammo carriers made in Africa that I picked up at local gun shows.

Each of these hold 10 rounds which is more that I would ever need but always nice to know that I have them.

Usually on an U Mikes belt slide that holds 10 rounds, but I also have a butt stock carrier on my 444 and a leather carrier on the sling of my Win 94 30 30 Trapper.
