Wow, finally got my hands on REGULAR LR primers, CCI, and loaded up some brass with 33 gr of reloader 15 under a 160gr Hornady LE polymer tip.

What a difference from the results posted above with the Magnum primers.

These targets are with CCI regular large rifle primers, 50 yds on the left, 100 yds on the right.

HOT DIGITY!

Next I'll up the charge to 34 grains to narrow the drop at 100 yds and see if it holds the tight group.

If I may ask what was your OAL?

Most are about 2.52 to 2.54"

34 gr of rel 15 under the 160 gr LE was not as tight as 33 gr
here's the pic at 100 yds

ONE extra gr sure lifted the group up at the 100 yd mark about TWO inches.

Just shot another group with 33 gr REL 15 under them to see if the group size held.
Barrel was pretty warm then but group still held to 1.5"

34.5 gr of H4895 under the 160 ftx was lousy. Still on the paper but all over... and it shot 5 to 7" high at 100 yds.

Took my new sweety to the gun range and tried out the 33gr Rel 15 under the 160 gr LE and held the 1 1/2" group at 50 and 100 yds.
Odd thing though,
I sighted the new scope in at 50 yds to 1" high.
At 100 yds they were 4" high. WOW They take off after 50 yds!!!!!!
The gun club is only 100 yds so someone out there try this load out to 150-200 yds for me.
I would love to know how it does.

Picked up my dream girl last month- 336SS and tried the 160grLE bullet on top of 32.4 gr Reloader 15 and CCI primers with a nice crimp.
Shot it today at the range at 100 yds.....wow, really nice tight group !!!
Just need to zero that in and that is THE LOAD.

What is the velocity of that load?

wish I knew, I haven't chrony'd it. Has to be around 2200fps maybe?

Finally got around to trying some FTX loads in my 336C. None were any good and all patterns but one was random right to left and up and down so you can scratch these off your list:

28gr Ramshot Tac 6+ inches at 100
29gr Ramshot Tac 6+ inches at 100
28gr IMR 3031 good left to right but a string 6 inches high at 100
27.5gr IMR 3031 5 inches at 100
31gr IMR 4064 7+ inches at 100
27.5gr RE7 4 inches at 100

All shots from a rest under the fore end and stock with a Tasco 3-9 that has been on the gun since I got it in the early 80s.

Picked up some 4895 and RE15 to try next and I sure hope the results are better than this because with 3031 and a Hornady 150gr SP I was getting 1-1.5 MOA at 100.

Thanks for the update mleeber,

Sad about the 3031, I thought that would have been better. I have had no luck with H4895 with the 160's. 32.5 gr Rel15 has been my success.

32.5 grs of RL-15, 3 shot average, 2140fps

The best I got from IMR8208 XBR at 30.5 grs was 2158 average from 3 shots.

Now the 150 gr. Speer Hot was smoking at 2335 fps.

2140fps average you say? Thanks! just added that to my book.

How did you find the accuracy with 32.5gr of Rel 15 in YOUR 336SS.

And
Now the 150 gr. Speer Hot was smoking at 2335 fps.
Chrony this if you have the items:
110gr HP Varmint over 35.2 gr of H4895. It has to be up there close. Groups great.....and mean.
