Does anyone know what powder and how much that Hornady uses in their 32 Special FTX ammo?

Thanks

According to two techs at Hornady, the powder used in their 32SPC is the same LVR powder we can buy off the shelf.

As to the load for factory ammo, I don't know but in Hornady's 9th Edition LeverEvolution starting load is 33.1grs and max load is 38.5grs.
Case - Remington
Primer Federal 210
MAX C.O.L. - 2.565"
MAX Case length - 2.040"
Case Trim Length - 2.030"

I bought a case of LVR 32SPC factory 165gr ammo but it just wouldn't group well in my 1894 Winnie. It likes Federal Blue Box. I sold the case to Jay, a member here Ret_Eng, it shoots well in his Marlin.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Jack. In the manual do they list velocity and pressure with the loads?

Thanks again

Beginning load of 33.1grs approx 2000fps range, max of 38.5grs approx 2300fps, out of a 20 inch bbl. Work up slow to find your bbl's accuracy node.

Go to Hodgdon site to look up various loads and their pressures: Hodgdon – The Brand That's True
