Anyone else have one of these Crosman DMPS 177 BB Guns? A lot of fun, but the downside is the 25 mag capacity. Wish some would come out with atleast a 50. Very fun and the rate of fire is pretty insane (1400 BBsPM). Hence the need for more mag cap..

Really solidly built BB Gun. Lots of metal and weighs at around the same as it would if it was a actual AR15.

I still have a couple of the old Crosman Wood stock Pumps around here. We all, or atleast some of us, probably remember the Full auto BB Gun game at the Carnivals. Wanted a full auto BB Gun after the first time I shot one of those Carnival Guns. Have not been to a Carnival for years. They still have those stands there?

Got one on a whim and it is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.... Just a hoot. It is more accurate than I expected in Semi Auto mode but ya gotta turn the selector to full auto, then the fun really begins... Have asked others at the range if they wanted to shoot it and at first they say "nah I'm not interested in BB or Air Gun", then I tell them "come on give it a try". After one mag they start asking questions about where they can get one..... LOL.. Even had someone come over and ask what kind of silencer I had on my AR15 SBR as it is really quiet. Told him what I was shooting and he asked if he could shoot it.....
I have had a couple of problems with mine though. First trying to lay a stock of CO2 Cartridges & BB's to keep feeding it is getting hard. Second is that I am getting to shoot it less and less when I take it to the range cause other shooters what to give it a go.

I have never spent this little for a gun & had this much fun shooting it. Mine is sporting a red dot that makes target acquisition very quick. Try It You'll Like It!!!

They are very accurate and velocity is pretty respectable too. When I bought mine a couple years ago when they came out. I thought 170.00 for BB Gun was pretty steep. But after buying it and holding it in my hands and shooting it. That worry disappeared pretty quickly. Very fun. I do not think I have ever fired mine in semi auto mode,LOL

I may find a lower end red dot and give it a try..Thanks

I've always lumped the full auto BB guns in with the full auto water (squirt) guns of the late 80's (Uzi-type of course). Those would work through math and science classes. But after that, it was disassemble and clean thru lunch, hoping to have a working one by recess...because everyone else was doing the same to theirs. Tape, glue, some strange clearance here, a bit of air tightness there. Those with extra magazines (water tanks) always had a damp waste line too. Good times.

At any rate, if they aren't the same (lol) well that's good to know too. I'd have one if they came in mil-spec versions.

Try to take a full auto water Pistol to school now.
No kidding! And thinking back, same school, l was in 6th grade and bought a 12 gauge pump off a Senior. We went out to his car after school and he carried the shotgun - bare, no case - across the parking lot, thru the kindergarten parent-pickup line, into the school building, down the hall, to the principals office.

No one blinked an eye. Circa 1987. Really good times. lol And still have the shotgun...a Mossberg something or other.

It's what todays media would call the classic 'schoolyard loophole'.

my first bb gun was a daisy, lever of course. I had it a few weeks and I shot my cousin in the temple with it because he scared a bird off I wanted to kill! he fell and started screaming like he was, well shot! when my daddy got home, Lord have mercy! cause daddy didn't! the first thing he done was wrap my gun around an oak tree in the front yard. the next thing he done was wrap his leather belt around me! several times! I never shot nobody else. my cousin had a little round scar on his head till the day he died,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I shot my Brother when we were kids with my Old Benjamin .22 Pump pellet gun about point blank. He still has a scar in his side to this day. They were pretty powerful Guns. And I am sure I would not have bothered letting him have it with only two pumps. Gave him the full power. HE HE HE.. But that was far from the worse 6 Farm Boys could dish out to each other. LOL

I may have to visit the next Carnival around and see if they have the BB Gun and give it a try for old times sake. I too vaguely remember the Gallery 22 Guns. Yeah the libs would put an end to that today for sure.

I get about the same, 5-6 mags from a pair of co-2 cartridges.
They tried to make it as realistic as possible so 30 BB's AKA 30 Rounds in an AR Mag.
It rips thru them pretty quick if you don't feather the trigger, but then again so does an AR15...
This isn't a take it to the range every time you go, but when you need a little diversion it is a real game changer....

I bought one late last fall when they were on sale. With all the stuff that has come up since then, I just haven't had the opportunity to shoot it yet. I am lucky enough to live in the country on several acres, so I can shoot it right off my back deck. At first, it was too cold, and then, with the weather turning better, I've had many projects that demanded my attention. I hope to some time with it in the next few weeks. I have handled it some, and agree that a red dot sight is the way to go. The factory sights are a bit tough to see. I've got a lower end red dot that is just sitting around waiting to be used, so I'll be putting that on it.

I've had friends ask why I would spend that much on an air gun. I always tell them it will scratch the itch for a full auto weapon without the massive expense and even bigger hassle.

It is just fun tell em. Whats a 180.00 for a little fun. Some people go out and waste that much on a Dinner anymore. And all they are left with is a some waste material after all is said and done.,LOL

I put a Binary trigger in my dedicated M16A2 .22 clone recently. Kinda expensive initial investment, but shooting .22 long rifle with it is a blast. And at the end of the day I have something that still has value left. I am pretty conservative. I only like to spend money on stuff I consider as non disposable items. If I have to get rid of it. It still has value. And most stuff I buy appreciates in value anyway.

People ask me why do you waste money on that stuff to just throw away ammo. Well why do you waste money on a Bar tab and a expensive restaurant prepared meal and get absolutely nothing in return, ever, its gone? Maybe a headache or food poisoning in return? I will take the Crosman and the M16A2 any day instead.
