Comfort Food

Making some comfort food for tonight's dinner, mac and cheese. I always felt that my late Mom made the best mac and cheese ever and many friends of mine who tasted it agreed. While I never actually got a firm, written recipe from her, I always asked questions and listened. Two of her "secrets" were different cheeses, lots of butter and lots of milk. Nice to have it tonight so leftovers can be had with BBQs this weekend.

While I like the Mac and cheese I make, it's simply not ever as good as hers was. But, I'll keep trying

Add some Americana to the theme. I decided that this was the night for my Xmas Spam gift, the new ******* Maple flavored product. It's been a while, I'll admit but it came out and sliced nicely, 6 pieces. So my American comfort and "authentic" meal is a wrap. The rest of the Maple Spam will be used as breakfast food..

Hope you all enjoyed some wonderful vittles tonight

Looks tasty. The Misses fixed stuffed cabbage covered in a tasty tomato sauce tonight, with corn on the side. No pics, but take my word for it, it was great. She made enough for tomorrow's dinner too. I have a couple cans of spam in the pantry that are a couple years old. It's time I cycled them out.

Ah, Mac and Cheese, the University student's staple food, I miss it. Haven't had it in a long time, my Sweetie won't make it, says its not healthy. I think I will have to make some for myself one night when she's working late. As for the Spam, never cared for it, we have some at the hunt camp sometimes. We always say it's made from the lips , ears and udders.
